Welcome back to another video. I'm really excited to share this topic today because we're going to
be going over all of my fall favorites. I've never compiled a video like this before where I talk
about, you know, movie recommendations, some of my favorites that I like to watch this time of year,
recipes, traditions. What else are we going to talk about? Oh, I have a few outfit recommendations.
I don't know if you want to call them outfits, but just new tops that I have found. So I will
have links for you. What else? What else? What else? What else? Oh, fragrances. I think we're
going to cover that too. Did I, did I list everything as I'm going through all of these
lists? I would also love you guys to be commenting down in the comment section,
what your favorites are, because I love hearing from you guys. I love hearing what your
recommendations are, and I'm sure all of us are going to have different favorites when it comes
to these topics. So please be sure to drop a comment as you are watching this video. I think
we're going to start with some outfits. So this is actually one that I just ordered off of Amazon.
I think I have a few off of Amazon. I will stand up and show you guys what this looks like. And
then we will get to showing you some other pieces that I have. I think I have four or five new tops
that I can link for you guys. Okay. First of all, I feel really awkward showing clothes on camera.
So don't mind my awkwardness. I don't really know what I'm doing here, but this first top I got off
Amazon. I usually get everything a little bit bigger when I order off of them because I like
things to be oversized. So I will be sure to also have my sizes linked below. This next one is,
I think it's called a shacket. Is that right? I found this while I was shopping at Walmart.
And again, this is an oversized top. This is not something I would just wear like as a t-shirt.
It's definitely really thick fabric. And then this next one is one I found off Amazon. I feel like
these are the perfect autumn colors. Everybody needs one of these. Okay. This is not something
I'd ever think I would wear. I felt like I should be out picking apples, like in an apple orchard or
something. I also just realized I didn't stand back far enough. So you couldn't see the bottom,
but this is a skirt and I didn't film me in this one today, but this sweater is still up on Amazon.
And this was a staple for me last fall. I still love this sweater.
Next, I thought I would give you some movie recommendations. So these are films I love to
watch this time of year, but I wanted to give you a little synopsis of each one, because I
can assure you there are going to be people out there who haven't seen some of these movies. Yes,
even Hocus Pocus. You know that one's going to be on the list, but let's get into the movie
recommendations. The first movie recommendation I have for you is Witches. This was actually a book
that I read in the fifth grade. We read it as a class and then we got to watch the movie. So the
movie I'm referring to is the 1990s film. There have been a few, I think there was one before,
and there was another one that came out in 2020. I have not yet seen that. That one has Anne
Hathaway in it. But the one I'm referring to is the 1990s film. And this one terrified me as a kid,
but because I watched it back in October, every October I like to put this movie on. And it's
something I even watch with my kids. But it's about a young boy who stumbles upon a witch
convention while he's staying in a hotel in England with his grandma. And he overhears their
plan to turn all children into mice. And when they notice him, they cast a spell, turning him into a
mouse right then and there. The rest of the film is really about him trying to stop these witches
from carrying out their evil plan. So again, I feel like this one is just very nostalgic for me.
I think all of these recommendations will be a little bit nostalgic and that's why I love to
watch them during these autumn months. The next one I'm going to recommend is Watcher in the Woods.
Again, this was a movie I watched as a child and it used to terrify me. This is a Disney movie
that scared the living daylights out of me, but I still loved watching it. This film takes place
in England when an American family moves into a British country house only to continually have
mysterious encounters with some kind of spirit. The ghost of the owner's daughter who had been
missing for several years torments the family's young girl. This movie also gives the name Karen
a whole new meaning. If you know, you know. Again, this is definitely an older film, but one I love
to bring out each fall. I can't not recommend this one because it's literally my favorite movie
of all time. And if you know me, you know I'm watching this movie in January, in May, doesn't
matter what month it is. I'm watching Hocus Pocus all year round. So I have to recommend this in
this video, but I can assure you there's going to be someone that has not seen it and maybe doesn't
get what the hype is. So I'm going to give you just a little synopsis of this film as well. This movie
begins back in the 1600s and I feel like it's the visual aesthetic of the whole film is why this film
is so popular. You just feel so many autumn vibes while watching the movie, so I think that's a huge
part. But anyway, it starts in the 1600s and it shares a little history of these three witches
Then fast forward to today and the story continues with a teenage boy named Max and his little sister
who recently moved from LA and now they live in Salem, Massachusetts. Of course, where else would
they live? The whole town is Halloween obsessed and he thinks the story of these witches is bogus,
which is why he decides to break into the old Sanderson sister house and he accidentally brings
the witches back from the dead. So the rest of the movie is him, Allison and Danny, his little sister,
trying to stop these evil witches. And since we're talking about Hocus Pocus, I also have to
recommend Hocus Pocus 2 because that comes out this year, September 30th. Yes, I already have it
on my calendar. Yes, I'm probably doing nothing else that day but watching Hocus Pocus 2. So that
will be coming out on Disney Plus and the greatest part about this is the original Sanderson sisters
will be starring in this film. Moving on to Halloween Town, this is another Disney movie.
This one is about a girl named Marnie and her two siblings that are not allowed to celebrate
Halloween. But on Halloween night, they follow their grandma home and they find out she lives
in another world called Halloween Town where it's literally Halloween every day. They realize their
family is a family of witches and warlocks and there is something mysterious happening in the
town. The family realizes they have to be the ones to save the town from something evil trying to
take over. This one is definitely a wholesome Halloween show and it's perfect for the whole
family. The next one is Nightmare Before Christmas and I feel like I have to recommend this one
during fall because this is not one that I typically watch during the holidays. I feel like
there's more spooky dark scenes than there are Merry Christmas scenes. But this animated film
is a Tim Burton classic. It's about a skeleton named Jack who is known as the Pumpkin King of
Halloween Town and he becomes bored with the same annual routine of frightening people when he
randomly stumbles across Christmas Town. He loves the feeling of joy he feels inside this town and
he wants to bring it back to Halloween Town. He has good intentions when he plots to bring
Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role but he soon
discovers even the best laid plans can go seriously wrong. The next one is Hubie Halloween and this
one is definitely very unexpected for me to like because it is a little bit weird. It's an Adam
Sandler film and it's a Netflix original so if you guys are familiar with Adam Sandler then you get
his humor. If you like Adam Sandler then you will love this film but it's also very much Halloween
in your face and I think that's why I love it so much because again it's the aesthetic of watching
the film. Every single scene is like Halloween in your face. So this movie takes place on Halloween
and where? Salem, Massachusetts of course. Adam Sandler plays the main character Hubie who is the
center of the town's meanest pranks when he finds himself in the midst of a real investigation for
a murder. So there is a bit of a spooky storyline and sometimes you're on the edge of your seat
like there are some a little bit scary scenes but the rest of it is pretty funny. And the last
film recommendation I have is Wait Until Dark. So this one is actually a very old one. This one
was filmed back in 1967 and this is an Audrey Hepburn film. Audrey plays a blind woman named
Susie whose husband Sam returns from a flight with a doll that he innocently acquired along the way.
As it turns out the doll is actually stuffed with drugs and a group of criminals have followed him
back to his home to retrieve this doll and that's when her husband leaves again. So Susie is left
alone in the apartment and that's when a life-threatening game begins between Susie and
these criminals. This one always had me on the edge of my seat because it's a blind woman trying
to fight these criminals and she's very strategic about how she is fighting them off so it's very
suspenseful. Again I watched this as a kid and I think that because of that this has been something
that I've loved to watch every fall. I also have a few more kids shows some that you I'm sure have
never heard of but some that I love to have on in the background. Also we have kids so my kids love
watching these but I will include these later on in the video. Moving on to some of my favorite
dessert recommendations. I have two that I just swear by. I talk about them every year so I kind
of sound like a broken record. My favorite recipe to make during the autumn months are homemade
butterfingers and if you don't like butterfingers they don't really taste like butterfingers but as
long as you love chocolate and peanut butter you will love these. Anyone who has tried this recipe
has told me it's one of their family favorites so the only ingredients you need for these
butterfingers are some chocolate melts, peanut butter, and candy corn and that's why I love to
make these during the autumn months because one of the ingredients is candy corn which is very
unexpected but it does turn this into more of like a crunchy chocolate peanut butter treat but I will
be sure to have the recipe listed below. I also have a video of me making this recipe if you want
to watch that. Again I will have that linked below and the other one of my favorite recipes I have to
make every year. I already made it for you guys in a video a couple videos ago. It's the pumpkin
chocolate chip cookies that have cream cheese frosting. They are to die for. They are the best
cookie you will ever try if you're into pumpkin chocolate chip. I promise you have to try these.
So again I will have the video listed below and I will also have the recipe listed as well. I also
wanted to share there are two different recipes that I want to try so I want to show you guys
what those look like. One of them are these pumpkin french toast sticks. I just think these
look so good. They're coated with cinnamon and sugar. This is definitely something I want to try.
I will have this one linked as well and then these pumpkin s'mores cookies. Are you kidding?
Like these just look like the best things that have probably ever been made so definitely trying
this recipe as well. Moving on to fragrances I have a few candles right here that I want to talk
about. You already know how much I love leaves. Okay so again nothing changes like every year
this is always my favorite candle of all time. I don't think that there will ever be a smell that
I like more than leaves. So this is obviously the first recommendation Bath and Body Works leaves
candle. I love it. I'm obsessed. I did order some goose is that what you say goose creek candles. I
keep getting ads for this company and so out of my curiosity I was like I just gotta order a couple.
So I ordered three. We're gonna smell these and I'm gonna tell you what I think. So this one is
ivory pumpkin. I think that the packaging is just really cute. They look a lot like Bath and Body
Works candles three wick. That one kind of smells like a sugar cookie to me. Let's see what the
fragrance notes are. It says there are no fragrance notes so I will have them listed below because I
know that I read fragrance notes maybe on their website. So I will have what they are below but
this one again the ivory pumpkin smells like a sugar cookie to me. Yeah straight up like I'm
baking a sugar cookie. The next one is I had to try this one blueberry pumpkin. I love the smell
of blueberry like muffins so that smells good. It smells good. It is blueberry. Definitely no pumpkin
smell. It's cute. It's cute and it does definitely smell blueberry. So I do like this one as well.
The last one I tried is this is autumn. I'm very hopeful for this. I want to believe that it's
I would say this is very similar. Hold on let's when I smell things a lot I get a headache.
This one might be my favorite out of the three. If you have the same nostrils as me like if this
is your favorite candle. Leaves is your favorite. I think this this is autumn would be your favorite
goose creek candle. So I'd love to hear if you guys have if you guys have any of these candles.
I did see recently they just announced that they're doing hocus pocus candles. I looked at
their fragrance notes though and I wasn't sure if I would be into any of them. I'd be into the
hocus pocus wrapper though. I also wanted to share this is one of my favorite candles of all time.
Leaves and this one. This is Mama's Kitchen. This is from Antique Candle Co. This is the best smell
like when I have this lit I always get compliments in my home. So I use this one all the time. This
is like my fifth one I've gone through. Again I will be sure to have all of those linked below.
I also have one more if you're more of like a wax person. This one from Better Homes and Gardens.
I got this at Walmart. This one is called Crisp Fall Leaves of course. This one I love to have
in my bathroom. I have this one just going all the time and I really enjoy this smell.
The last topic I wanted to share with you are some of my favorite traditions that we do and
I wanted to do ones that are not like your typical go to the pumpkin patch or go to a haunted house.
I wanted to think of things that are very different or something that like just my family
does. I don't know if other families do. So one of them is we have a book wall in our home and
I know that that's something that a lot of people do. We have one that's just Halloween books or
oh no my dog's coughing. Hold on. Are you okay? But we have our book wall full of Halloween books
and on October 1st starting on that day we let the kids pick a book off of the book wall and
we go to a really random place to read it. I don't know why we do this just in October but
it's something we've done for a few years. So one of my kids will pick a book and then say,
I want to go read it outside on the tramp or I want to read it under the dining table. It's
always somewhere really really random. So that's a tradition that we do and we do it every single
day through the month of October and it's something that my kids have loved doing. So
if you have little kids that is a really fun tradition kind of random. It just makes book
reading at night a little bit more fun. And then another tradition that we do and this is something
I get asked every single year without fail. My most asked question is about our Halloween family
night. I actually have it here with me. So my mom and a group of her friends made these, gosh,
when my oldest brother was born. So we're talking like this was like 40 years ago. We've been doing
this. It's called a family night but this is something we do on the first Sunday of October
and we've done it again for, I mean ever since I've been alive, we've done it every single year.
So this is something we've continued to pass down and now we do it at my home. We invite my entire
family. Sometimes there's cousins here and it's just a really fun night. We play boo bingo. We
read some stories. There's some like little ghost stories that we have in here. They're not real
ghost stories. They're like child-friendly silly ghost stories. We have all kinds of stories.
Something that's really special. This is something my dad actually drew this and my dad passed away
in 2020. So it's fun to just like that we have all of the original parts of this family night. It's
so fun to go back and just look at. Someone will read the history of Halloween. There's just a
bunch of things that we do. This is one of my favorite things. I'm going to try to find a way,
you guys, to make this available to you just because so many people comment on this tradition
and how fun it looks and they would love to pass this on to their family as well. So I'm going to
find a way to get this available to you guys. We also end the night with the phantom also known as
booing someone where you like drop a treat off on a random person's porch or like a neighbor
ring the doorbell. We used to call it the phantom. I think it's called booing now.
Before we go, I wanted to quickly recommend a few kids shows and honestly even if I didn't have kids
these are my favorite movies to have playing like in the background. I love to put old cartoons on
while I'm cleaning or doing something. It just makes me feel more festive when old
Halloween shows are playing. So I'm going to show you a few of those before we end this video.
He had a way with the yard.
That magical time when leaves fall and pumpkins grin and spookables
roam free. Halloween had come to the hundred acre wood.
The witch wailed and how the cat spat when the wind blew so wildly it blew off the hat.
The witch they flew to the ground. Anyway, I hope you guys got some recommendations. Again,
I would love to hear what some of yours are. Some of your favorite traditions that you do
with your family. Some of your favorite movies. If you've got any other ideas you want to share
below, please do so. Thanks again for watching and we'll see you guys in the next video.
