Audience: 嚴子 (2019 Concert)

I came to Meimei’s concert for the first time three years ago. Prior to that I had heard Old Shanghai Songs from radios and movies. My overall impression was they were a bit flat. I didn’t know much about them. But after I heard how Meimei sang them my appreciation has been growing for these songs, to the point that I want to listen to them all the time. My favorite was one of her originals, called “Ask the World What Love is”. For some reason this song just carried me away to a whole new beautiful place. The band is getting better and better. Very smooth. Their collaboration is flawless. Really a great band. I have a lot to say to Meimei. First I want to say I admire you so much! In this very commercialized world you can continue to pursue your own dream, bringing the Old Shanghai Pop legend to live. Even though a lot of us, including myself, have asked why you would use your such wonderful voice to sing these old songs. But that has never deterred you. You have not given up. Instead, you are making these concerts better and better. I really admire you! Please continue to do so! My name is Zee and I am Meimei’s student.
