Spanish police began installing a floating barrier along Ceuta’s sea border with Morocco on Aug. 1 after an unprecedented mass crossing left at least 67 people dead, overwhelmed the tiny Spanish autonomous city, and renewed fears of uncontrolled migration.
The Michigan Senate Democratic primary will be held on Tuesday with multiple polls showing that candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who is backed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), has a significant edge over Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.).

Our top story tonight. Spain makes a new move to secure its border, hoping to stop a surge of
illegal immigrants. We take a look at the conditions inside the Spanish territory in
North Africa and how European leaders are responding. A key Senate primary in Michigan
heads into its final stretch as a new poll shows one candidate pulling ahead.
As the Democratic Socialists of America gain more ground in US elections,
we look at some members' ties to a pledge supporting China's communist system.
And a centuries-old food is getting new attention for its potential health benefits.
We take a closer look at the science behind sauerkraut, what it can actually do for the body.
This is NTV Evening News, live from our global headquarters in New York City.
And thank you for joining us tonight. I'm Paul Groening.
The mass crossing of illegal immigrants into Ceuta, a tiny Spanish territory in the coast
of North Africa, has now prompted Spanish police to install a floating barrier along its border.
Ceuta's mayor-president addressing the crisis today.
Ceuta has not returned to normal. We are not in a state of normalcy. There are still several
thousand people in Ceuta who must be returned, and the atmosphere among the population of Ceuta
remains marked by unease and concern. The mass migration has overwhelmed the
small city, with about 60,000 people entering by land or sea over the past 48 hours. That's
equal to nearly three-quarters of Ceuta's population. At least 67 people have died,
some by drowning, others crushed by crowds. Spain says more than 48,000 have since returned
to Morocco. But the situation has drawn backlash from several European leaders,
including the EU's Commission President, who called the scenes unacceptable.
Italy's Prime Minister, Giorgio Maloney, ordered a one-month suspension of the EU's free travel
pact with Spain, known as the Schengen Agreement, which allows border-free travel between Italy and
Spain, saying, quote, on illegal immigration, we will not yield an inch. The Spanish government
also said those who entered Ceuta illegally will not be permitted to travel onward to mainland
Europe. Incredible. Now, Michigan's Democratic Senate primary is entering its final stretch,
with a new poll showing that candidate Abdul El-Sayed is pulling ahead of Congresswoman
Haley Stevens. A poll from Emerson College shows El-Sayed leading Stevens by double digits.
This is just days before Tuesday's primary. Both have several campaign events ahead,
as tensions between the two heat up. The winner will face Republican Mike Rogers in November
in a race for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat. El-Sayed is backed by socialist politicians,
including Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Campaign finance data shows
the race being one of the most expensive Democratic Senate primaries ever. We keep you updated.
Now, from escalating tensions with Iran to meetings with world leaders,
and a new push to put American veterans behind the wheel of America's trucks,
Anthony's Daniel Monahan has your White House Week in Review.
Tensions with Iran escalated this week after a pause in fighting.
Iran launching multiple missiles at a U.S. military base in Jordan in an attempted surprise attack.
So we had five rockets shot going 8,500 miles an hour,
and all five rockets were knocked down to the ground. But they nevertheless took a shot,
so it's our turn. Saudi Arabia also joining the United States in retaliation, launching
strikes on Iran-backed terrorists in Iraq after drones targeted Saudi oil facilities.
President Trump paying tribute to longtime Republican ally Lindsey Graham at a funeral
service in Washington. No matter how heated things got in Washington, virtually everyone,
Republican or Democrat, liked Lindsey. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian
President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Washington for Graham's funeral. President
Trump later hosting separate meetings with both leaders at the White House.
I have just finished an excellent meeting with President Trump.
President Trump also discussing efforts to end the war in Ukraine during his meeting with
President Zelensky. I get along with President Putin. I get along with President Zelensky.
And like I told him, I want to end the war, get the war ended. Thousands of people,
25,000 people died last month. The Senate passed a sweeping bipartisan
Russia sanctions bill named after Lindsey Graham, a longtime supporter of Ukraine.
So I'd like them to add Iran as tariffs, not just as sanctions. I think it's important.
That's what Lindsey wanted, because I heard that they have tariffs on Russia,
but not on those five countries with having to do with Iran.
The Trump administration used the alien terrorist removal court for the first time ever,
seeking to deport an Afghan woman accused of supporting her family's

But for decades, the autoworkers and manufacturers of this great state were
sold out and betrayed by globalist politicians and corrupt special interests.
One retired autoworker saying President Trump has saved the U.S. auto industry.
We can thank this gentleman right here for all these jobs coming back.
The Trump administration's newly launched Freedom Haulers initiative received a pledge
from Werner Enterprises to hire 1,400 military veterans and spouses.
This administration's Freedom Haulers campaign will have a direct and powerful impact
on our ability to bring even more veterans into our workforce and into this great trucking economy.
As we get illegal aliens off the roads today, we're also taking action to replace these
unqualified migrant truck drivers with highly qualified American veterans.
Transition from military life behind the wheel of a commercial truck
has brought a renewed sense of mission for me.
The Trump administration is also ramping up its crackdown on fraud.
The Justice Department announced 17 cases across seven southeastern states
involving more than $350 million in alleged fraud.
Today, with these folks behind me, we're putting fraudsters on notice.
President Trump also announcing what he called a historic agreement for the disarmament of Hamas
and all other armed groups in Gaza.

And new Washington DC police statistics show that the homicides in the nation's
capital are down 47% from the same period last year.
The White House has been touting similar drops in other cities
as the U.S. is on track to hit a new record low nationwide.
NTD correspondent Jason Blair has more.
Murder rate saw a single largest drop ever recorded to the lowest in 125 years.
President Trump referring to 2025, which saw the biggest one-year
decrease in murders nationwide since records started being kept in 1900.
The White House says 2026 is already on track to beat last year's historic drop,
and Washington DC is one of the top major cities to reflect the drop.
DC Metropolitan Police stats say from July 31st, 2025 to July 31st, 2026,
homicides decreased from 174 to 93 or by 47%.
The White House reports that so far this year,
Memphis has seen a similar drop of 43% and New Orleans 32%.
White House Bordezar Tom Homan saying recently that
ICE arrests are hitting record levels as well.
Numbers are up. I mean, in June,
we had the highest numbers of arrests in the history of the agency, of ICE,
and July's tracking even beat that.
Data released by TRAC Immigration last week shows ICE is averaging about 1,500 arrests a day.
And Customs and Border Protection now have the highest number of Border Patrol agents
in its 102-year history. The agency credits the surge to $4.1 billion
in hiring funds from the one big beautiful bill passed last year.
And after videos started circulating of crowds of immigrants illegally making
their way through Spain's borders, President Trump had this to say.
It looks like an invasion of a country. We have the safest border in the world.
If we're not in office, our country will be invaded at levels that made Spain look small time.
The White House also touting U.S. borders having 15 straight months with
zero illegal aliens admitted. Reporting in Washington, D.C., Jason Blair, NTD News.

I was a young dad of three amazing kids. I was finally following my dream.
Just when you feel like life is starting to come together, you get kind of hit in the face.
I was born with a congenital heart defect and had open-heart surgery as a kid.
I was supposed to go to the heart doctor once a year, and I finally went. He listened to my heart,
and I'll never forget, he sat back and he said, yeah, it's time for open-heart surgery,
or you risk your aorta rupturing, and that's it. I was scared out of my mind.
The night before my open-heart surgery, I made a goodbye video for my kids.
Be strong. Take care of your mom. I love you guys.
Seeing, you know, all the kids hug him goodbye and hoping that they were going to be able to
hug him again. I love you.
But I did make it, thanks to the work of the American Heart Association.
So that's why I'm asking you to join me.
Please call now or go to helpheart.org. For only $19 a month, just 63 cents a day,
you can help get the next person trained in CPR, get the next hospital certified in high-quality

that helped save my life. When you give $19 a month with your credit card, we'll send you
this special t-shirt to show you're a part of our community of monthly donors.
I'm most grateful that I get to have a husband that I get to grow old with,
and a husband that gets to be there for his children.
I believe without the American Heart Association, I would not be here today.

Welcome back. I'm Paul Graney.
The Democratic Socialists of America will have more names on the ballot in this year's elections
than ever before. PSA members around America have been toppling Democratic incumbents
and winning primaries, and the group doesn't hide its socialist leanings. It's in the party name,
but how close do they consider themselves to totalitarian socialist governments around the
world? For example, the Chinese Communist Party. With us now is James Lin, a political commentator
best known for his vocal criticism of Marxist ideology and postmodern theory. He's also the
founder and president of New Discourses. James, thank you so much for joining us this evening.
As you know, we've just learned that six self-described members of the DSA have signed
a pledge to support the People's Republic of China and promote understanding of Chinese
socialism. Two of the signatures come from self-described DSA committee members.
Does this surprise you? The only thing surprising is that they're this open about it.
The sentiment does not surprise me at all, and I would suspect that the vast majority of DSA
members feel somewhat similarly because they're socialists, and they're socialists of the Marxist
variety, and they all stick together because they all have the same goal in the world.
To your point, it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. We see DSA members
have made glowing reports after returning from trips to China where they were treated as what
they called VIPs. They also run what are called seminars on modern China and lessons for US
socialists. How close do you think the DSA's ties to the CCP actually are?
I don't have hard evidence, but I would wager that practically speaking, in terms of
funding sources and coordination, that they're actually pretty strong. In terms of ideological
collusion or similarity, they're very, very strong. I just mentioned before that they're
socialists and have the same goal. All Marxist socialists believe in the same way that Christians
believe that they're supposed to Christianize the world and spread the Great Commission and all of
that. They're supposed to work to bring about socialism, and it doesn't really matter how you
do that. The CCP right now is the strongest vehicle in the world for bringing about socialism,
and so they would see this as one of the most important tools. The DSA is committed to the
exact same project, to change the world to a global socialist project. Their ties are very
tight. As a matter of fact, I went through their platform the other day in tremendous detail,
exposing its Marxist and Leninist explicit references and foundations. I also took a look
at how it compares to what's called the Common Program for the People's Republic of China,
which was the constitution Mao Zedong installed from 1949 to 1954. There are several points of
strong similarity. Their ideological connection is deep, it's strong, and their socialist faith
matches. It would be not at all surprising at all to find out that they have rather tremendous ties
financially and practically to the Chinese Communist Party, not least as we're starting
to find out from the State Department through Cuba as one point of contact that they have.
James, at the beginning of this conversation, you said you weren't surprised, but you're surprised
how open they are about actually signing this pledge and open about their support. You look
through their platform, what particularly stood out to you as a striking example of similarities
to think of what could be in the future a relatively mainstream political party has
ideologically aligned with the Chinese Communist Party? It's incredible to think.
Well, since I don't have it in front of me and it's a quick segment, it's hard to pull up exact
points. The idea, of course, is that everything is going to be free and paid for by the taxpayer.
The tax base is going to be rapidly expanded, I should say, to capture monies from everybody who
they see as effectively a class enemy, everybody who is, in their words, rich and not paying their
fair share. If you look through the number of times that there are oblique references to things
that Karl Marx said is very high, there's an oblique reference to from each according to his
abilities to each according to his needs. There's an oblique reference to a stateless classless
society where they say that you can govern yourself. So the references to communism,
the structure that they have is very pre-revolutionary communist. So there are
many points that are directly out of Marx and Engels and Vladimir Lenin's structure
and their thought. Many references that I would point to that are The State and Revolution,
which is Lenin's 1917 book. But at the same time, it's pre-revolutionary, not post-revolutionary.
So the goal is actually to damage the American system so that it's not stable enough to continue.
So it's slightly different than what you would see put into play, say, in 1949 by Mao after the fact.
It's incredible to think a platform like this is getting so much attention and support in America.
Here's one area where we see it. This is DSA member Francesca Hong, who will likely be the
Democratic ticket for Wisconsin governor this year. She previously called for abolishing the
Senate and abolishing the police. She's since said she no longer supports that,
but here she is recently on Fox News. Why shouldn't people take you at your word
when you say that you want to defund the police and go towards abolishing it?
Dana, first of all, I have to say thank you so much for featuring my home state in your novel.
And I believe that as a democratic socialist, what that means is that I would like to put
working class people first. How does defunding the police put working class people first?
Dana, James, you didn't really directly answer the question. What do you make of that apparent
flip-flop? Marxists always lie. So this is in the DSA platform, and the wording is actually very
carefully put in the DSA platform. I would assume that she agrees with that, since that's all she
invoked, and putting working class people first kind of speaks to that. But they explicitly say
that they want to abolish the police and the prison system that serve the current capitalist system.
So they aren't actually against the police. They're not actually against the prisons. They're
actually against the idea, this is again a reference to Lenin's state and revolution.
They're against the idea of the current system being able to maintain itself through law and
order. They are more than happy to create a community police that will become their own
secret police and their own, of course, prison system and re-education system. And that verbiage
in the platform is very, very deceptive. It says about abolishing the police and the prisons,
defunding them, as long as they are the kind that serve the existing order of things. And I think
that her hesitance there is likely to be figuring out on the spot how to answer that question and
stay consistent with the actual vision without giving away too much of the game.
Incredible. James, how might a group like the Chinese Communist Party
look to exploit a group like the Democratic Socialists of America?
I mean, a lot. The Chinese Communist Party has the goal of Chinese hegemony of the world. They
want to be the global superpower. Unipolar, not multipolar, all these words that fly around.
From probably about 2050 to about 2150 at a minimum. So they want to set the stage
to be the leading power of the world. That means getting America off the stage. There are a few
ways to do that. But one is to cause internal fractures, fighting so much that the US falls
apart or is too weak to be able to carry on in its role. There are other approaches as well.
But installing a socialist program that either causes division or possibly leads to a civil war
or that actually becomes a full-blown socialist subservient state that would all serve their
interests in getting ultimate power. So I think it's very clear that the CCP would
very much appreciate what the DSA is doing and how they're doing it.
Just incredible. James, I want to wrap up with a quote from this pledge that the DSA members
seem to have signed. The pledge said that humanity needs socialism in order to end poverty
and work towards dismantling structural discrimination and oppression. I just have
to say anyone who is saying this and signing something like this really has no idea of what
socialism has done in other places where it's been implemented. Well, that's possible. They
also have a different definition, a different understanding of what these oppressions look like.
Again, we can turn to Vladimir Lenin directly in The State and Revolution where he talks about how
the formation of a state, which is echoed in the DSA platform, the formation of a state is to serve
two interests in these stages of development up through capitalism. One of those is to
maintain the class antagonisms in defense of the status quo in the current ruling class.
The second is to punish the enemies of that ruling class. Lenin says that the socialist state is not
a full state. It's a semi-state. It's only half of a state because it only does the second of
those two things. It does not wish to maintain class antagonism, which is the only source of
oppression they recognize, but it does wish to use the state's full force and power under a democratic
dictatorship or the proletariat to punish and destroy class enemies, including removing their
freedoms of speech, their suffrage, their rights to property, and to punish them actively. So,
you know, no due process of law, etc. All stripped of the ruling class, the capitalist class,
or the so-called privileged classes, because that is the only thing that they see. So,
socialism frees up everybody else, apparently, but in reality, we all know that that's not what
happens. This is all just excuses for these tyrants to take power, to rob society, to abuse everybody,
and to grossly enrich and empower themselves until it all falls apart.
It's incredible to see this ideology not only surviving, but also making political gains
somewhere like the United States. That's James Lindsay, the founder of New Discourses. James,
as always, thank you. Thank you.
Now, top intelligence officials say that China's targeting of U.S. voter registration data
constitutes election interference. NTD's Washington correspondent Jack Bradley reports.
The heads of America's top intelligence agencies are saying China's acquisition of U.S. voter
registration data was election interference. A new White House fact sheet says the Chinese
regime and its proxies bought, stole, or hacked voter data belonging to as many as 220 million
Americans, some of it not publicly available, backing up President Trump's recent statement.
The People's Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of
election data in history. The document was approved by the directors of national intelligence, the CIA,
the NSA, and Homeland Security. They say voters' stolen personal information could be used by China
to block people from voting, force provisional ballots, and disrupt election day operations.
This is a cyber threat aimed at the very heart of our democracy.
But some Democrats are pushing back.
The efforts to try to actually interfere did not change any votes.
That was the conclusion driven by the Trump administration, national intelligence.
But President Trump says some intelligence officials were keeping this information hidden.
They did not disclose to me as president or to anyone else and to the best of our knowledge,
they did not inform Congress.
The president is now directing the Justice Department, the FBI, CIA,
and the Office of Director of National Intelligence to investigate why
and to pursue criminal charges where appropriate. Jack Bradley, NTD News, Washington.
And coming up, the DOJ drops the Lincoln Pool vandalism case against a former Olympian,
though President Trump disagrees.

Prosecutors have moved to drop the case against former Olympian David Hearn.
He was charged with damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool early this month.
NTT's Dave Martin has the latest in his story.
A filing by the Justice Department yesterday said that additional documents provided by
the Interior Department since David Hearn was indicted on July 2nd showed problems
with the installation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool's coating.
Prosecutors wrote, quote,
Had DOI been forthcoming with the information clearly in its possession,
the government would not have sought a grand jury indictment.
President Trump, though, disagreed with the decision, saying on Truth Social, quote,
There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by vandals.
Hearn had been indicted on one count of felony destruction of property
after police alleged he grabbed and tugged at a loose section of the pool's coating on June 19,
alleging more than $1,000 in damage.
Prosecutors said the new evidence made it difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt
that Hearn caused the damage.
The 67-year-old Hearn represented the U.S. at the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics in canoeing.
Elsewhere in sports, FIFA President Gianni Infantino
dropped his proposal Friday to allow private investors
to purchase a multibillion-dollar stake in a newly created World Cup enterprise.
Infantino had proposed creating a subsidiary to run the World Cup
with minority investors already lined up,
including one by an investment firm created by Joshua Kushner,
who's the brother of President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
But the plan was met with swift backlash from every corner of the planet.
Governing bodies for North America, Central America, Asia, and European football
had come out against the proposal, with the European Union, or UEFA,
threatening to boycott the World Cup in protest.
Sports marketing analyst Bob Dorfman says Infantino saw the writing on the wall.
It didn't help that he really didn't let on that this was going on.
He didn't really advance notice anyone.
It seemed to be a one-man plan.
And I think a lot of the association members were shocked and surprised when they heard about it.
This is Dave Martin for NTD News.
And sauerkraut is more than just a side dish.
The fermented cabbage is packed with probiotics and nutrients
that may support everything from digestion to immunity.
Vital Science host Brendan Fallin breaks down the five key benefits for your body.
Let's start with the basics.
What actually happens when food ferments?
Take sauerkraut.
You shred cabbage, add salt, and pack it down.
The salt draws moisture out of the cabbage, creating a brine.
Naturally occurring bacteria, primarily Lactobacillus plantarum,
begin feeding on the sugars in the cabbage and producing lactic acid.
That lactic acid is what gives sauerkraut its sour taste, and it's also what preserves it.
This process, lactofermentation, generates a surprisingly wide range of health benefits.
Let me walk through the major ones.
Firstly, probiotics.
The dominant strain produced, Lactobacillus plantarum, is unusually acid tolerant,
meaning it survives stomach acid better than most probiotic strains,
and is more likely to reach the colon intact.
Once there, it strengthens the gut lining, displaces harmful bacteria,
and has shown promise for IBS symptom relief.
There's also emerging evidence linking it to reduced anxiety
and depression through the gut-brain axes.
Number two, postbiotics.
Beyond the live bacteria, fermentation produces byproducts, lactic acid,
and short-chain fatty acids that have their own anti-inflammatory and gut-protective effects,
independent of the probiotics themselves.
A University of California Davis study found these compounds in sauerkraut
outperformed raw cabbage in protecting intestinal cells from inflammation-related damage.
Benefit three, vitamin C.
Sauerkraut delivers around 50 to 30 milligrams of vitamin C per serving,
enough that sailors historically carried it on long voyages to prevent scurvy.
The lactic acid environment stabilizes what fermentation doesn't degrade,
preserving its role in immune function, collagen synthesis, and antioxidant protection.
Fourthly, during fermentation, bacteria produce vitamin K2 in its MK7 form,
the most bioavailable form, and distinct from the K1 found in leafy greens.
K2 activates proteins that direct calcium into bones and teeth and away from arterial walls,
making it relevant for both bone density and cardiovascular health.
Most people in Western diets are notably deficient in it,
and fermented foods are one of the few reliable dietary sources.
And last but not least, S-methylmethionine, SMM.
Sauerkraut is one of the better dietary sources of SMM, sometimes called vitamin U,
which has a history of use in repairing the gut lining and treating peptic ulcers.
Importantly, SMM can convert in the body to SAMe,
a key methyl donor involved in synthesizing dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine.
That conversion pathway isn't yet fully qualified in humans,
but it's a plausible mechanism for some of the mood benefits associated
with fermented food-rich diets.
Now, why does any of this matter?
Because your gut microbiome, the ecosystem of trillions of microbes
living in your digestive tract, plays a role in almost every system in your body.
Digestion, immune function, inflammation, mental health, skin, hormones.
Dr. William Davis, author of Wheat Belly and one of the leading voices on gut restoration,
has spoken on this show about the remarkable effects of specific microbial strains,
and why he's such a strong advocate for fermented foods.
Now, you can ferment all sorts of microbes and get all sorts of interesting effects,
like that rhodorhine gastrite that pushes back SIBO, or it could be bacillus coagulans
that reduces muscle injury incurred during strenuous exercise or heavy work.
It could be bifidobacter infantis that when restored to a newborn child,
that child has better neurological maturation,
has less likely to develop asthma or type 2 diabetes or obesity later in life.
It's more likely to sleep through the night.
It has fewer bowel movements, fewer diaper changes for mom and dad,
and it has a higher IQ later in life.
That's the effect of one microbe.
So we can restore microbes and have extraordinary effects.
What Dr. Davis is pointing to is something that's easy to overlook.
Not all fermented foods are equal,
and not all probiotic sources deliver the same bacterial counts.
A store-bought probiotic capsule might contain 2 billion microbes.
His extended fermentation method produces 300 billion.
The difference in effects can be significant.

A celebration of kindness this week.
Online video platform Ganjing World hosting their annual Be Kind, Be Cool Awards.
They're honoring creators who highlighted kindness in their content and art.
Anthony's Nico Bonnie reports from Times Square.
In the heart of Times Square, one message is taking over the screens.
Be kind and be cool.
Ganjing World is hosting their annual kindness awards, recognizing people from around the world
who are making kindness a part of their everyday lives.
Be kind, be cool.
Ganjing World, which means Ganjing World, is a video streaming and content sharing platform.
It aims to create a positive online environment by promoting kindness and meaningful content.
They launched their hashtag Be Kind, Be Cool campaign in 2023,
encouraging people around the world to share acts of kindness.
We hope this kindness is like a seed and to bring to everybody,
especially young people's heart and let it grow.
I give it to you, you give it to her, you give it to him, he give it to him.
We got to keep the ball rolling with kindness, love and integrity.
All I know is that when you do it, you smile and you feel good in your heart.
This year's top prizes went to a content creator known as the anonymous Good Samaritan
and the film Bebe's Wish.
Meanwhile, bronze prize winners took the stage in Times Square,
counting down to a billboard reveal and also receiving their awards.
No matter what, treat people how you want to be treated
and even if people are just being so rude, kill them with kindness.
Josh Nassar shares the inspiration behind his kindness journey.
A content creator who now has 10 million followers
who watch him drive around screaming compliments at strangers.
During the pandemic, I looked at what was going on in the world.
There was a lot of sadness.
It was just obviously a really hard time for people.
So I go, why don't I do the opposite?
Why don't I just literally, I just literally went, boop, boop, let me do the opposite.
The campaign has received recognition from multiple state governors and lawmakers.
Flushing District Leader Martha Flores-Vazquez
shares why she presented a proclamation honoring the movement.
Because kindness is my middle name and this is all about kindness.
So if I can show gratitude for people that are doing the good work in New York City,
then I'm present.
Today, Ganjig World also opens up submissions for their next round of Global Kindness Awards.

Nice, that's all for this evening.
Tuning in, I'm Paul Greaney.
Good night.

Hi, my name is Brady.
When I was born, my parents thought everything was okay.
My mom and dad were so excited to take me home.
I still get goosebumps telling this story.
Several days in, his skin started to become very cold and clammy.
We noticed that he had become blue around his mouth and something was just very off.
Packed up as fast as we could.
Brady stopped breathing twice on the way to the pediatrician.
And that was one of the number one things that just haunts me to this day.
I was born with a congenital heart defect called aortic coarctation.
If my parents waited just one more hour to drive me to the hospital, I would not be here today.
But thanks to research funded by the American Heart Association,
I had heart surgery that saved my life.
But not every kid is as lucky as me.
Which is why we need your help.
Just call the number on the screen or go to helpheart.org.
For only $19 a month, just 63 cents a day, you can help get people trained in CPR,
get more hospitals certified in high quality cardiovascular care,
and help fund the next medical breakthroughs to help save kids like me.
When you donate to the American Heart Association, you're helping save lives like my son.
And now my son is happy and healthy thanks to the support of people like you.
When you call with your $19 a month, you'll get this really cool t-shirt as a thank you.
Many children die from congenital heart defects.
I can't wait to grow up to become a heart surgeon and fix baby's hearts.
But until then, I'll keep helping the American Heart Association.
So please join me.
Just call the number on your screen or go to helpheart.org
to become a monthly donor and help save lives.

My name is Steve Lance and I am the Washington, D.C.
Bureau Chief for NTD News, and I also host the Capital Report, NTD broadcast via satellite
into China, actually.
If you have a satellite dish positioned in a certain way, you'll be able to receive the
NTD broadcast.
And you can imagine, in a country where there is no freedom of the press, there's no freedom
of speech, and all of the media is state-run, that poses a significant threat to the Chinese
Communist Party.
And so they've gone to great lengths to influence and subvert that effort, and I can't wait
