EAST FISHKILL – A Poughkeepsie woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from her employer in East Fishkill. State police arrested Shakeema Winters, 38, on October 13 and charged her with felony grand larceny and misdemeanor criminal impersonation following an investigation that began in May.
Troopers say that, beginning in May 2026, a private business in East Fishkill received multiple complaints from customers who said they paid for services, but the business never received the payments or credited their accounts.
Winters, an employee of the business, collected the payments into her personal account instead of the business’s authorized payment system, according to the police. Winters allegedly received more than $4,000 from multiple victims.
Following her arrest, Winters was released with an appearance ticket for a November 4 court appearance in East Fishkill.
