Daniel Suárez is set to return to Spire Motorsports’ No. 7 Chevrolet in 2027, giving the organization another season to build on a partnership that has already produced one of its biggest victories. Spire announced the contract extension on Oct. 13, ending speculation about Suárez’s future as the NASCAR Cup Series approaches its final races. The decision follows a first season with Spire that has given Suárez plenty of reasons to stay. After five years with Trackhouse Racing, the Monterrey, Mexico, native joined the organization for 2026 with a new team and an opportunity to establish himself in a different environment.

The move has paid off significantly. In May, Suárez won the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, securing a crown jewel victory that gave the No. 7 team a defining moment in its first season together. However, that victory is only part of what has made Suárez’s year stand out. He has delivered the most consistent season of his Cup career, entering the closing stretch with a career-best average finish of approximately 15.2. His three top-five finishes and seven top-10 results have helped him qualify for the Chase, putting Spire in the postseason with two entries.

In 31 starts, Suárez has also led 42 laps in the No. 7 Chevrolet and averaged a 14.3 starting position. His 15.2 average finish is the best of his Cup career, reflecting the consistency he brought to Spire in his first season with the organization. Carson Hocevar has also reached the championship battle in the No. 77 Chevrolet, marking an important step forward for the organization.

For Suárez, the extension provides stability after a career that has seemingly bounced him from team to team. He began his Cup career with Joe Gibbs Racing before moving to Stewart-Haas Racing and Gaunt Brothers Racing. His five-year run with Trackhouse followed, bringing his first two Cup victories. Joining Spire gave him another chance to prove why he belonged on the national stage, and his performance this season has given the organization a reason to keep investing in the partnership.

The extension also allows the No. 7 team to look ahead without the uncertainty of filling an empty seat. Spire can now concentrate on improving its equipment and building the consistency needed to compete more regularly near the front. Yet the season still has time to run before attention fully turns to 2027. Suárez remains in the championship fight, and his results over the remaining races will help determine how much momentum he carries into the offseason.

Suárez’s return is more than just a contract extension following a successful first year. The Coca-Cola 600 victory showed what the No. 7 team could accomplish, and his consistency throughout the season proved the performance wasn’t limited to one afternoon. Now, both sides have another year to build on that progress. With his future set, Suárez can shift his focus to finishing 2026 strong before returning to Spire with the same goal: putting the No. 7 Chevrolet in position to contend for more victories.
