Let me start by saying I know absolutely NOTHING about Robert Pattinson.
I know he’s an actor, and I know he was in some gay wolf movies or whatever the fuck. That’s the extent of my knowledge of the guy.
I also walked into this movie fully expecting it to bomb.
Earlier this week, I came across a post claiming the film spent its entire runtime portraying Chris Hansen in a negative light. The poster also made a point of mentioning that the producer was Jewish, suggesting the movie was somehow an elaborate attempt at “protecting pedophilia.”
Fucking groyper retards.
Anyway, let’s get into it.
FIRST AND FOREMOST:
Robert Pattinson was absolutely PHENOMENAL as Chris Hansen.
And I mean PHENOMENAL.
His portrayal was so convincing that, in several scenes, the lines between actor and subject practically disappeared. There were moments when I genuinely felt like I was watching Chris Hansen play Chris Hansen.
The mannerisms, the delivery, the presence. All of it.
A STELLAR performance. You will love it.
SECONDLY:
Contrary to the online outrage, this movie does NOT portray Chris Hansen in a negative light.
Not even remotely.
Instead, it takes you behind the scenes of To Catch a Predator and explores the triumphs, tensions, and turmoil that came with bringing the groundbreaking series to television.
The infighting. The psychological toll on decoys. The marital problems. The exhausted production crew. The pressure of navigating an operation where the stakes were very real.
And perhaps most surprisingly, the film doesn’t make Hansen the center of every single moment.
In fact, there are stretches where he almost becomes an afterthought as the story dives into the personal lives of the decoys, the production team, and even the predators themselves.
It gives the story a depth I wasn’t expecting.

OH, AND ABOUT THAT “PROTECTING PEDOPHILIA” BULLSHIT…
One of the primary predators portrayed in the movie is a rabbi.
Nobody was protected. Nobody was given a free pass. And the movie certainly wasn’t some thinly veiled attempt to rehabilitate child predators.
That criticism was complete horseshit.
MY FINAL VERDICT:
It has been a LONG time since I walked out of a movie theater genuinely blown away.
I’m talking about sitting there afterward thinking:
“Holy shit. That was a GREAT fucking movie.”
I honestly can’t remember the last time a movie impressed me this much. Maybe sometime in the mid-2010s?
The acting was phenomenal. The storytelling was gripping. The behind-the-scenes perspective was fascinating. And the entire experience exceeded every expectation I had walking in.
Go see it. Rent it. Buy it. Stream it.
I don’t give a shit how you watch it.
Just watch it.
FINAL SCORE: 10/10.
🔥 CERTIFIED DOPE. 🔥
NOTE: This is my very first movie review with [Your]News and I BADLY wanted to give this movie a 9.7, or a 9,8, you know, to appear polished and snarky like other critics.
I wanted to be greedy with my score and make Hollywood earn every single coveted number.
Primetime earned the 10.
