DUTCHESS COUNTY- Destination Dutchess has received three 2026 New York State Tourism Excellence Awards recognizing its innovative efforts to promote the county’s history, agriculture, and craft beverage experiences.
Presented September 17 by the New York State Tourism Industry Association in Corning, the awards bring Destination Dutchess’ total to 12 in four years.
The winning projects included Destination Dutchess Rev250, a multiyear initiative highlighting the county’s role in the American Revolution; “Commander in Cheers Beers,” a campaign connecting craft beer with Revolutionary history; and the Destination Dutchess Farm Finder, an online guide to local farms and agritourism experiences.
“These awards demonstrate what’s possible when tourism investment in development and promotion is paired with inspiration, impactful partnerships and a clear, data-driven understanding of what entices people to travel,” said Melaine Rottkamp, President and CEO of Destination Dutchess.
Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino praised the organization for attracting visitors and tourism spending, noting its role in supporting local businesses and strengthening the county’s economy.
Destination Dutchess works to promote the county as a travel destination, helping generate economic opportunities for tourism-related businesses and communities throughout the region.
