GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus has named Dr. Cortland Lohff as the county’s health commissioner.

Prior to his appointment, he served most recently with the New Mexico Department of Health.

“Having completed my residency training in New York, I’m excited to return to the state and to serve the Orange County community,” he said.

His appointment is subject to confirmation by the county legislature, which is expected to be just a formality.

“Dr. Lohff brings exceptional experience and a clear commitment to public service,” said Neuhaus. “His leadership will play a vital role in strengthening public health and supporting the wellbeing of all Orange County residents.”

In the absence of a health commissioner, Medical Examiner Dr. Jennifer Roman served as acting commissioner.
