Kylie Jenner is taking on a new role in the thriller genre.

The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family’s Kris and Caitlyn Jenner branch is set to star in Hulu’s upcoming mystery series Bachelorette Weekend, with her sister Kim Kardashian serving as an executive producer.

The series, from Before I Fall novelist Lauren Oliver, will feature Jenner as a bride-to-be who is killed during a girls trip ahead of her wedding. Her death upends the bridal party and raises suspicions about each of her maids of honor. Although Jenner’s character has a short-lived presence, her role is described as the series’ “North Star.”

Representatives for Hulu had not immediately responded to a request for comment.

The project brings together the sisters in a new way, with Jenner taking on a major scripted acting role while Kardashian expands her work behind the scenes as a producer.

Kardashian is no stranger to producing. She received producer credits on Keeping Up With the Kardashians as well as several spinoffs and related projects, including Dash Dolls and Rob and Chyna. Her experience in scripted television, however, is more recent. She served as an executive producer on All’s Fair, the legal drama starring Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts and Glenn Close.

Kardashian first appeared on television in the reality series The Princes of Malibu, created by The Hills’ Spencer Pratt and centered on her cousins Brandon and Brody Jenner, who later made occasional appearances on The Kardashians.

Her profile rose significantly after Keeping Up With the Kardashians became a major success in the late 2000s. Before that breakthrough, she had already taken on a non-reality acting role, appearing in the ensemble cast of the poorly received 2008 comedy Disaster Movie.

For Kylie Jenner, acting represents a newer chapter. She first appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2007, when she was 10 years old.

After branching into television hosting, writing and the cosmetics business, Jenner appeared as herself in the 2018 film Ocean’s 8. Her first role playing a character other than herself came in 2021, when she voiced Penelepuff in NBC’s holiday special Trolls: Holiday in Harmony.

Earlier this year, Jenner received her first significant praise for a screen performance after portraying an exaggerated version of herself in Charli XCX’s meta dramedy The Moment.

Ahead of the film’s premiere in March, Jenner said she was thrilled about being part of her first movie premiere and described herself as especially excited for the red carpet. She also said she had received several scripts but had not yet found a project that felt right, adding that she “100 percent” wanted to do more acting.
