LIBERTY – All are welcome tomorrow night at Liberty Mall for the unveiling of Voices Through Brushstrokes at 5 p.m., presented in partnership with Grease Productions, Casa de Longa, Bardi, and Hope’s Compass. The project features eight massive 8-by-3-foot paintings permanently installed in the atrium windows. Each piece was directly inspired by live musical performances and community stories shared during an August collaborative session.
Hope Blecher from Hope’s Compass said the goal was to inspire everyone who sees it:
“We want people at various stages of their day and what they’re experiencing to be able to look at this and feel a moment of hope.”
She said the beautification of an underutilized space has value:
“We can look at something and think, ‘What could it be?’ and actually imagine it and create it.”
She said that the installation looks like a beacon, especially at night:
“Now when you come off Exit 100 of Route 17, and you’re at that traffic light, you will be able to see it at night illuminated.”
