MANILA — Deutsche Bank has appointed Vikas Arora as its chief country officer and head of corporate banking in the Philippines, expanding his leadership responsibilities within the German lender’s operations in the country.

The appointment is scheduled to take effect October 1, subject to regulatory approval, Deutsche Bank said in a statement on Tuesday.

In his new role, Arora will oversee the bank’s corporate and investment banking operations in the Philippines and represent the broader Deutsche Bank group locally.

He will report to Kaushik Shaparia, Deutsche Bank’s chief executive for India and Emerging Asia, and Burkhard Ziegenhorn, who leads corporate banking for Southeast Asia and Australia.

Arora has been with Deutsche Bank for nearly three decades, joining the institution in 1996. During his career, he has held roles covering client coverage, trade finance, cash management, corporate banking and transaction banking across Asia and the Middle East.

His earlier positions at the bank include chief country officer in Sri Lanka and head of global transaction banking in the Philippines.

Before his latest appointment, Arora was Deutsche Bank’s head of corporate banking in Malaysia.

The new position places him in charge of a broad range of Deutsche Bank’s activities in the Philippine market, including corporate client relationships and investment-banking operations.

The appointment also brings Arora back to the Philippines, where he previously served in a senior role.

Deutsche Bank is a major international financial institution with operations across Asia, where corporate banking and transaction services are key components of its regional business.

The Philippines remains an important market for international banks, supported by its expanding corporate sector and increasing links to global trade and investment.

As chief country officer, Arora will represent Deutsche Bank in the Philippines while overseeing its corporate and investment banking activities.

His appointment will become effective once the required regulatory approval has been secured.
