KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger has named Leslie Wellington as the director of the county Department of Economic Development.
The Olivebridge resident has served as interim director since July.
“Leslie has hit the ground running,” said Metzger. “She has been deeply engaged with our industry partners and businesses, launched major initiatives like the Revolving Loan fund, and is driving the vision for our Economic Futures Summit with tremendous skill and energy.”
Wellington is a former chairwoman of the Ulster County Economic Development Alliance.
Megan Sperry, chairwoman of the County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee said Wellington is “a solutions-based thinker who brings innovative strategies to Ulster County.”
