Paris, France — Kim Kardashian has been awarded €1 in damages over the 2016 Paris jewelry robbery in which she was held at gunpoint.

A Paris court granted Kardashian the symbolic amount she had requested in connection with the civil case stemming from the robbery. The award came nearly 10 years after the incident, during which thieves stole millions of dollars in jewelry from Kardashian at a Paris hotel.

Among the stolen items was Kardashian’s $4 million engagement ring. The robbers, who were disguised as police officers, forced their way into her hotel suite, restrained her and took the jewelry.

Kardashian’s €1 award was symbolic rather than intended as substantial financial compensation. A hotel receptionist who was also affected by the robbery received €109,516 in damages, while the hotel itself was awarded €50,000. Kardashian’s stylist, Simone Harouche, also received €1 after requesting the same symbolic amount.

The court previously found eight people guilty of roles connected to the robbery. The defendants became known in France as the “Grandpa Robbers” because of their ages.
