WASHINGTON – Congressman Pat Ryan (D, NY-18) has renewed his call for Secretary of (Defense) War Pete Hegseth to resign due to what he believes is his incompetence.

Ryan said Hegseth is firing key personnel in the middle of a war and that’s the wrong thing to do.

“We have seen from this administration an unprecedented level of politicizing the military, specifically purging senior and mid-level leaders, who are some of the most battle-tested and proven leaders, literally in the middle of a war,” he said. “The senior general in the Army was fired in April and still hasn’t been replaced. The secretary of the Army, who was respected on both sides of the aisle just got pushed out and he hasn’t been replaced.”

Ryan said it would be like taking your quarterback and running back off the field in the middle of the Super Bowl. And he said this war that it “increasingly feels like we’re losing.”
