LIBERTY – Liberty High School officially snipped the ribbon on its brand-new athletic complex on Friday. Student athletes, coaches, and local families gathered to inaugurate modern stadium lights, expanded bleachers, and a state-of-the-art all-weather track built to host the RedHawks for years to come. District officials and community members celebrated the project not just as a game day venue, but as a major long-term investment in local students. A little over a year ago, they broke ground for the project.
Athletic director Thomas Zinner was a speaker at the ceremony.
“Today isn’t just about cutting the ribbon for opening a stretch of fresh turf. It’s about creating a space where our young can thrive, build confidence, and discover what they’re capable of.” he said.
Student athletes Jose Moreno Reyes and Audrey Krum talked about what the new field means to them.
“To be able to play on the new turf field so that when we play teams also, we are not at a disadvantage anymore,” Reyes said.
“We no longer have to worry about a swamp field on game day or cancel practices due to a waterlogged field,” Krum said.
