POUGHKEEPSIE – , the monthly celebration on Main Street in Poughkeepsie on the first Friday of each month between June and November, continues to draw larger crowds.  On the first Friday of each month, Main Street between Market and Academy Streets is closed to traffic at 3 pm, to allow local businesses and entertainers to set up and show people what the Business Improvement District (BID) has to offer in the city.

Attendees last night experienced great weather, live music, and several vendors, including local restaurants, and the event ran until 9 p.m.

Ame Arcana headlined First Friday with a “genre-blending indie rock project led by Poughkeepsie’s own Ame Spins, bringing haunting melodies, alt-rock energy, original music, and favorite covers to the heart of downtown,” according to First Friday officials.
