FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — Orlando City B delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over Inter Miami II on Matchday 28 of MLS NEXT Pro at Inter Miami CF Stadium, taking advantage of an extremely effective attacking performance to secure three valuable points in the race for a playoff spot.
Orlando City B came out with a very high level of efficiency in the attacking third. The visitors broke through the defensive lines of the young Herons with ease and went into halftime holding a comfortable 3-1 lead. Although Inter Miami II attempted to adjust its tactical setup and managed to pull one back through Nash Dearmin, Orlando’s attacking momentum carried far more weight during the opening 45 minutes.
After the break, Inter Miami II adjusted its personnel in an attempt to control more of the ball and create opportunities to reduce the deficit. Despite the home side’s efforts to get back into the game, Orlando’s defense stood firm and neutralized Miami’s most dangerous attacks.
Near the closing stages, the visitors took advantage of the spaces left open by Miami’s urgency and put the game beyond doubt with the final 4-1 scoreline, securing three valuable points in their fight for playoff qualification.
The result further confirms Orlando City B’s dominance in this year’s Florida derbies. After a 4-4 draw in March and a 4-1 Orlando victory in May, the visitors have now maintained their unbeaten record against Inter Miami II this season while pushing the young Herons further toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
Inter Miami II will return to action against Huntsville City, Nashville SC’s reserve side, on Sunday, September 13, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
