Elon Musk’s America PAC has begun spending heavily in the 2026 midterm elections, directing approximately $800,000 toward 15 House and Senate races as Republicans seek to retain control of Congress.
Federal Election Commission filings show the super PAC is buying advertising in competitive contests across Alaska, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The group’s largest disclosed Senate expenditure so far is in Texas, where it has spent nearly $250,000.
America PAC has also committed about $170,000 to the Senate contest in Maine and another $25,000 in Michigan.
The PAC plans to run advertising in Senate races in Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire and Texas.
Its House spending includes support for several Republican incumbents facing potentially competitive races, including Reps. Tom Kean Jr. of New Jersey, Mike Lawler of New York, Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Jen Kiggans of Virginia and Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin.
Andrew Romeo, a spokesperson for America PAC, said the organization intends to work alongside President Donald Trump’s political operation and the broader Republican Party as the November elections approach.
“The president’s political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top-notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we’re excited to again be part of the team,” Romeo said in a statement.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee responded by attacking Musk’s financial involvement and the Republican candidates receiving support from his organization.
“Elon Musk is trying to buy off vulnerable House Republicans who rewarded him with massive tax breaks paid for by gutting Medicaid and shuttering hospitals,” said Viet Shelton, a DCCC spokesperson.
“We will expose every single GOP fraud who takes his toxic money and hold these crooks accountable,” Shelton said.
The initial $800,000 in expenditures represents the beginning of what could become a substantially larger Musk-backed effort during the final months of the campaign.
Musk has said he intends to spend $100 million during the 2026 midterm cycle.
That would make him one of the most significant individual financial forces in Republican politics this year and could give America PAC a major role in races where control of the House and Senate may be determined by relatively narrow margins.
The spending follows Musk’s extensive involvement in the 2024 presidential election.
The technology billionaire, who is widely regarded as the world’s richest person, spent approximately $250 million supporting Trump’s successful return to the White House.
America PAC emerged during that campaign as a major outside organization supporting Trump and Republican voter-turnout efforts.
Its renewed activity in 2026 signals that Musk intends to remain deeply involved in federal elections beyond the presidential race.
Republicans enter the midterms defending their congressional majorities in an environment where the president’s party has historically faced losses during midterm elections.
America PAC’s early spending reflects an effort to protect vulnerable GOP incumbents while also influencing several important Senate contests that could determine control of the chamber.
With Musk having indicated that as much as $100 million could ultimately be deployed during the cycle, the approximately $800,000 reported across the first 15 races represents only a fraction of the political spending that may follow before Election Day.
