The Texas A&M Aggies and the Texas Longhorns are two schools who do not like each other. Over the last couple of years, these two teams have played each other on the final weekend of the regular season in college football. Texas has taken down Texas A&M over the last two seasons. The Aggies won’t be facing the Longhorns until the final week of the regular season. However, Reed spoke with the USA Today about not liking Texas whatsoever. He said,
“We don’t like Texas. I don’t like Texas. It sucks that we’ve lost to them twice. But, they’re coming here this year, so they’re gonna have to pay. I’ve got something for them, for sure.”
It is going to be interesting to see what the records of Texas A&M and Texas will be when this matchup rolls around this season. There is a chance that the Longhorns and Aggies could be fighting for college football playoffs positioning during that matchup. Reed has not performed well against Texas during the last two seasons.
During the 2025 college football season with the Aggies, he completed 62.1% of his passes for 3,169 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 493 yards on 104 carries and six touchdowns, along with averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Reed is one of the more interesting dual-threat quarterbacks in college football as well.
He is 6’1″ and weighs 185 lbs. The Aggies will begin the season on Saturday, September 5th against the Missouri State Bears with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. In order for Reed to perform well against Texas this season, he is going to need to be much better in other games and have good habits leading up to that week also.
