TikTok just removed a clip from The Jeff Dornik Show featuring Senator Ron Johnson. Their explanation for their decision to censor a sitting United States Senator was the typical, “This video violates our Community Guidelines.” Nothing specific was identified, and no details were provided.

The clip itself was a straightforward political interview about election fraud, illegal immigration, the dangers of one-party political control and, of course, Anthony Fauci.

What TikTok apparently found too dangerous for consumption included Senator Johnson alleging that Democrats “don’t want to restore confidence in our election” and “want to make sure that they can cheat” so they can, in his opinion, turn America into a one-party nation.

He claimed that part of their strategy was mass illegal immigration and pointed out the political consequences of allowing millions of illegal aliens into the country without proper vetting. I shared my perspective of what one-party rule looks like here in California, after which we turned the conversation back to Fauci, the COVID lockdowns, vaccine mandates and how our constitutional rights were stripped away during the “pandemic.”

That was the clip. A sitting U.S. Senator giving his political analysis on my show, and TikTok removed it.

TikTok’s rules state they want to allow the “informed exchange of civic ideas,” while banning specific categories of election misinformation involving voting procedures, eligibility, election outcomes and illegal election interference.

Their notice to me didn’t state what was said that violated these standards, but instead just declared a guilty verdict and banned it from being seen.

The absurdity gets even better when you remember that the entire point of forcing TikTok’s U.S. operations to be American majority-owned was because everyone in both Biden’s and Trump’s administrations said that it was a national security threat to allow the Chinese Communist Party to have access to our data and control what we see through manipulative algorithms.

Now, we’ve replaced the CCP harvesting the data and controlling what we see with U.S. corporations with ties to our own intelligence agencies that are doing the same thing.

And now TikTok is censoring Senator Ron Johnson.

Think about it: Our government involved itself in private business to force the sale of a company so that the censorship could come with an American flag instead of a Chinese flag. Excellent work, Washington.

Ron Johnson has been one of the few senators willing to continually expose the truth that the political elites want buried. He’s pushed for answers on COVID policy, Fauci, federal health agencies, vaccine safety, government accountability and the failures of our institutions that have spent years demanding compliance while pushing back against any serious scrutiny.

You can agree or disagree with his conclusions, but censoring my interview with him prevents people from hearing the argument from his own mouth and being able to decide for themselves.

This mentality is one of the reasons why I built Pickax.

The fundamental problem with the Big Tech Silicon Valley platforms is their centralization of control over speech and the distribution of speech. They decide what you see, whether your content gets seen (or not) by your followers, and which viewpoints get amplified or deleted from existence.

Once a corporation is able to control both the public square and the algorithm deciding who gets heard inside that public square, censorship becomes easy to hide.

Pickax has a completely different philosophy.

When you follow someone, their posts actually appear chronologically in your newsfeed without an algorithm deciding what “deserves” your attention. We offer verifications for free to eliminate bots and bot farms, Rumble videos play directly within the newsfeed, articles can be written directly on Pickax and we offer monetization based on actual human engagement, all without forcing our users to be beholden to the algorithm gods.

I keep saying that social media needs to become social again, and this situation proves that.

People should decide what content shows up in their newsfeed based upon who they follow. Human beings should be able to follow whoever they want without Silicon Valley stepping in to “correct” their choices.

TikTok censored a clip of Senator Ron Johnson discussing his views on election fraud and why he believes the Democrats are working against election integrity. This is in spite of the fact that the federal government forced the sale of TikTok to supposedly put the American platform under “trusted” American control.

However, changing who owns the company did not solve the censorship problem.

Censorship has to be solved by building something better, such as what we’re doing with Pickax, not just changing the flag of the country who controls the platform.
