A man wanted in Philadelphia after allegedly spending more than 30 minutes harassing and frightening people while wearing a distinctive Halloween mask has been taken into custody nearly 2,500 miles away in Las Vegas.

The U.S. Marshals Service identified the suspect Tuesday as 22-year-old Zymire Hughes.

Hughes is being held at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada while authorities prepare to extradite him to Pennsylvania.

The allegations stem from a series of encounters in Philadelphia’s Center City neighborhood on the morning of Aug. 12.

According to NBC News, Hughes is accused of accosting multiple people while wearing what authorities described as a “baby doll style Halloween mask.”

The masked individual allegedly remained in the area for more than 30 minutes, approaching and harassing people in conduct authorities said was intended to frighten or terrorize them.

The unusual appearance of the suspect and the nature of the encounters drew attention after information about the incident circulated publicly.

Authorities eventually located Hughes in Las Vegas, where he was arrested.

The U.S. Marshals Service announced his identity following the apprehension Tuesday.

Hughes will remain in custody in Clark County pending the extradition process, after which he is expected to be returned to Pennsylvania to face proceedings related to the alleged Philadelphia incidents.
