Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani announced plans to sue conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, alleging defamation during a recent interview with Hunter Biden. Giuliani made the threat during a Sunday appearance on Newsmax, where he criticized both Carlson and Biden for their discussion about the origins of the Hunter Biden laptop controversy.

“He personally defamed me, Hunter Biden did,” Giuliani stated. “And so did Tucker.” Giuliani expressed particular outrage over Carlson’s interview with Biden, in which Carlson mentioned that individuals with ties to Israel had approached him while he was at Fox News, pushing allegations related to material on Biden’s computer.

Giuliani interpreted Carlson’s remarks as an agreement that he and former President Donald Trump had acted as agents for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “In other words, he agrees that I was and Trump was an agent for Bibi,” Giuliani said. “He can go to hell!”

Giuliani vehemently denied the allegation, stating, “I wasn’t an agent for anybody but myself and the United States of America and the man I was representing.” He confirmed his intent to sue, saying, “I’m gonna sue him!” When asked if he would follow through, Giuliani responded, “Absolutely.”

The dispute revolves around the 2020 controversy involving material from a computer associated with Hunter Biden, which was published by The New York Post shortly before the presidential election. Giuliani played a central role in the episode, providing the Post with a copy of the hard drive, which formed the basis for stories about its contents.

During his interview with Carlson, Hunter Biden disputed aspects of the laptop narrative, claiming that material eventually attributed to the laptop came from multiple sources, including hacked cloud accounts. Giuliani’s threatened lawsuit would focus on whether Carlson’s comments about his alleged role in the episode constituted defamation.
