There was a chance that Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore was going to enter the 2026 NFL Draft, but he decided to stay in college for another season. If he declared for the NFL Draft, he would have either been drafted number one by the Las Vegas Raiders or two by the New York Jets. With Moore staying for another season, he can polish his craft no doubt about it.

Oregon is going to be one of the top teams in the nation this season. They lost to the Indiana Hoosiers twice last season. One of those losses came in the national semifinals. The Ducks have never won a national title before, and they continue to knock at the door at the opportunity. Oregon is the second rank team in the AP Poll entering the 2026 college football season.

Chris Vannini of the Athletic wrote about ranking the 138 FBS teams in college football as the season approaches. He ranked Oregon as the fourth best team in the country. To go along with that, he thinks that quarterback Moore is the best quarterback in the country. Vannini said,

“The Ducks might have the best quarterback and defensive line in the country. Six of Dan Lanning’s eight losses as a head coach have come against teams that played for the national title. The pieces are here to get over the hump.”

Moore is 6’3″ and weighs 206 lbs. He completed 71.8% of his passes for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 156 yards on 73 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 2.1 yards per carry. It will be interesting to see what numbers he is going to put up with the Ducks this season. If he performs well like last season, he could be in the conversation for the number one overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft as well.
