The Las Vegas Raiders finished with a 3-14 record last season. Las Vegas has a key building block for the future, and it is running back Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders got some production from him last season with 975 yards rushing on 266 carries and five touchdowns, along with averaging 3.7 yards per carry. Jeanty also caught 55 passes for 346 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 6.3 yards per reception and he was targeted 73 times.

Well, it was reported on Sunday night that Jeanty couldn’t really put any pressure on his leg. A lot of Raiders fans braced for the worst, but it appears as if he avoided a major injury. He is dealing with an ankle injury. It remains to be seen if he will be ready for the week one opener against the Miami Dolphins or not.

Adam Schefter of espn.com was on the Pat McAfee show on Monday talking about the Jeanty injury. He said,
“It’s a sprained ankle for Ashton Jeanty and the Raiders don’t know if he’s gonna miss any time.. We do know that it’s certainly not a long time injury.”
Even if he were to miss the first game of the season, it is good that this is not a season-ending injury for the Raiders star running back. If it was a long-term injury, it would no doubt have been devastating for the 22-year-old running back. It remains to be seen what Las Vegas will do this season. Jeanty needs to prove himself in the new offense under head coach Klint Kubiak here.
