Political influencer Hasan Piker mocked the killing of Charlie Kirk during a live performance on the Fear&Live West Coast Tour as the anniversary of Kirk’s assassination approaches.

Piker, a left-wing political commentator who has expressed admiration for Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong, is appearing as part of the touring live production of Fear&Live, a stage adaptation of the podcast built around unscripted conversation, debates and interaction with audience members.

During one of those appearances, Piker began singing “We Are Charlie Kirk,” a song that spread widely online following Kirk’s assassination nearly a year ago.

The song became associated with tributes to Kirk after the young husband and father was killed in what was described as a politically motivated assassination connected to his views.

Rather than performing the song as a tribute, Piker used it to mock Kirk and his death while on stage.

Video of the moment was shared on X by political commentator Mike Cernovich, who cited Piker’s performance while contrasting political attitudes toward Kirk’s killing.

“This is for those claiming ‘there’s no difference between Republicans and Democrats,’” Cernovich wrote.

The incident occurred as the first anniversary of Kirk’s death draws closer, placing renewed attention on the assassination and the public response that followed it.

Kirk’s killing generated widespread tributes, including the circulation of “We Are Charlie Kirk,” as supporters memorialized him as a husband, father and political activist who was murdered because of his political views.

Piker’s performance repurposed that tribute in a mocking manner during the Fear&Live event, prompting criticism over the decision to joke about the assassination so close to its anniversary.
