CATSKILL – A Leeds man was found guilty on Friday by a Greene County Court jury of two counts of felony assault and one count of felony unlawful imprisonment for holding his former girlfriend captive in his trailer for two days.
Michael LaRosa was also convicted on three misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation in connection with incidents that occurred between September 9, 2024, and September 10, 2024.
LaRosa punched, kicked, and choked the woman to the point where she could not breathe, then took a metal toilet paper holder that can hold five rolls and beat her with it.
He then dug his teeth into her body and ripped a piece of flesh from the back of her shoulder.
This went on for two days.
On September 10, he forced her to kneel on her hands and knees while naked and kicked her in the head, face and body.
As he was assaulting her, someone knocked on the door and LaRosa ordered her to stay in the bedroom while he answered the door, but she dove out the window, still naked, and ran to a neighbor’s house where the neighbor called the police.
District Attorney Joseph Stanzione said LaRosa “will now be held accountable for the violent crimes he perpetrated against his victim.”
