New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is 33 years old and back with the franchise. He started his career with New York. Beckham was with the Giants from 2014-2018 but was traded to the Cleveland Browns before the 2019 NFL Draft. He is not the same player he once was, but Beckham is looking to make the Giants 53-man roster.

If he does wind up making the roster this season, it will be interesting to see what he is going to have left in the tank. Beckham did not play at all last season. He was with John Harbaugh on the Baltimore Ravens during the 2023 NFL season.

Dan Duggan of the Athletic covers the Giants. He wonders what each wide receiver could potentially bring on the roster. Duggan is not sure about Beckham potentially making the 53-man roster out of training camp. He said,
“The No. 6 wide receiver doesn’t necessarily have to play special teams, but Beckham will need to produce more this summer to justify carrying him as a depth receiver. Beckham looks like he still has juice, and that showed up Wednesday in his best practice of camp. The delay in signing Beckham in the spring involved both sides discussing the possibility his comeback bid falls short. Beckham will need to raise his play and maintain it to avoid that fate.”
The Giants will have a home preseason game on Saturday, August 15th against the Minnesota Vikings. Beckham will have three chances in game live action to prove if he can be on the team or not. If he does make the team, it will make Giants fans happy, and it would be interesting to see where on the depth chart he would be after thar. If not, then Beckham probably doesn’t have anything left in the tank and may just need to retire in a New York uniform after the preseason ends here.
