One of the biggest questions will be when does starting pitcher Garrett Crochet return to the Red Sox this season? He has only started in six games this season for Boston. Crochet has a 6.30 ERA. In 30.0 innings pitched, he has given up 33 hits and 23 runs. Crochet has also walked 11 batters and has struck out 37 batters. His WHIP is 1.47. Crochet has been on the 60-day injured list because of a lat/shoulder injury.

Alden Gonzales of espn.com is not sure when Crochet could potentially be back for the Red Sox this season. He said,
“Nobody really knows. But at long last, there’s progress. Anthony began a swing progression just before the end of July and is now hitting off a pitching machine. That might not sound like much, but up until recently, there had been little to no update since the second-year outfielder suffered a partially torn tendon in his right wrist on May 4. Now there’s a path toward a rehab assignment. Crochet’s progress had been even slower since landing on the IL with shoulder inflammation in late April. But he finally started throwing again last week, playing catch from about 60 feet out. The left-hander still has several steps to clear, but one can have reasonable hope he might be back this season in some capacity.”
Outfielder Roman Anthony hopes to be back soon for the Red Sox. It remains to be seen what will happen. If Boston gets Crochet back, it is possible he is pitching out of the bullpen and not necessarily in the starting rotation also.
