MONTICELLO – Several new businesses are going through the planning process as they plan to locate in Sullivan County, according to Marc Baez, president of the Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development.

Those businesses are not just kicking the tires, but are projects in the works, he said, and they are in many different categories

“We will always prioritize at the Sullivan County Partnership diversifying our economy,” he said. “To the extent that we can bring other businesses in here that create ratables and jobs – predominantly ratables because we fell that’s key, helps Josh (Potosek, the county manager) with his budget.”

Baez said Sullivan continues to be the highest job growth percentagewise in the region and one of the tops in the state and “that means something.”
