NYC Mayor, Zohran Mamdani announced his plan to open 5 city-run grocery stores in NYC. These stores will offer consumers free groceries. Well, not totally free per se, tax payers will be paying for the groceries, and everyone, including the unemployed who don’t pay taxes, will reap the benefits.
Now, anyone with a scintilla of economic sense can predict these stores won’t last long, and soon after opening, they will fail to remain solvent. But, by that time, Mamdani will have won a ton of political points, and other Democrat Socialists might get elected into office, and these free stores will go under, and residents of NYC will have nowhere to get groceries.
Understand, these 5 city-run grocery stores will put every mom and pop Bodega out of business, and that’s even less people contributing to the tax base, and more people relying on the government for survival. A government that will soon not be able to afford to provide for its citizens.
Okay, full disclosure, the groceries won’t be totally free, but Mamdani is bragging that they will be 30% cheaper than other NYC stores. Anyone who knows anything about grocery store profit margins, knows the mark up is very slight, and grocery stores, small ones anyway, barely make an annual profit.
Offering goods at a 30% discount doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you compare those prices to the prices Bodegas and other small shops have to charge. You will be able to see how these stores will run the small mom and pops out of town.
Mamdani knows this, and this could be his grand plan. Any fool could have seen that when he was campaigning for Mayor, but the fools outnumbered the intelligent voters, and Mamdani became NYC’s 112th mayor.
OR DID THEY?
This last NYC mayor race was audited recently, and more than 200,000 votes for Mamdani were labeled as “suspicious.” That in itself doesn’t mean that much, but it does raise a ton of questions about the validity of Mamdani’s election.
What does that mean for NYC? Not a whole lot, because Mamdani’s camp will go into overdrive to combat those findings, and do everything they can to make those who discovered it look like “racists” and “Islamophobes.” It’s the liberal- Democrat Socialists’ – playbook tactics. Let’s hope it doesn’t work.
However, after reviewing 1 million votes. It was discovered that 7% [68, 441] were from nonexistent records. 6% [59,104] were in a range of social security numbers that couldn’t possibly exist. 10% [91,504] were from “people” who don’t live in NYC, and 1% [9,340] had no SSN associated with the “voters.”
That said, the Voting Integrity group who reviewed the votes. Discovered that out of 2.2 million votes, 1 million were studied, and it was discovered that MANY of them were allegedly illegal in the margin of victory.
Their report stated that about 228,000 votes can be brought into question, and hopefully proof of this malfeasance will be forthcoming. This might be what NYC needs to rescue them from Mamdani, and other political hacks just like him.
I’ve always said, sometimes we need bad things to happen here, to reveal the true nature of a political party, people and organizations. Perhaps this is one of those times, and NYC can be saved if the right people take the necessary corrective actions.
BACK TO THE STORES
Mamdani is requiring all shoppers of these stores to show valid ID so non-citizens can’t take advantage of the stores…This is the same Mamdani who repeatedly claimed requiring voters to show ID was racist.
Okay, again, full disclosure. The ID plan isn’t to prevent non-citizens from shopping at the stores, but rather, non-New Yorkers. Apparently, Mamdani wants only New Yorkers to be able to take advantage of these discounted, government run stores, and no one else.
If you’ve ever run a business, you know how asinine that thought process is. NYC is a tourist city. People from all over the world go to NYC, and they have lots of money to spend there. What sense does it make to ban people who are not NYC residents from shopping at grocery stores, you want to remain solvent? “Hey tourists, keep your money, our dwindling tax base will keep these stores afloat.”
No Mamdani. No they won’t. Your tax base will shrink due to the fact you’ve run so many NYC resident business owners out of business. Where do these communist idiots think tax money comes from?
FEDERAL FUNDING, SILLY…
Okay, let’s be honest, NYC, just like other American cities has gotten billions in federal funding over the years. But, President Trump has threatened to discontinue federal funding to NYC, and that would be a loss of about $7.5 billion if he did.
But can Trump actually do that? Can Trump legally circumvent Congress who makes the funding decisions, and revoke federal funding? Remember, it’s not like the whole $7.5 billion goes into the NYC coffers, and Mamdani can do whatever he pleases with it.
Let’s break it down:
Of the $7.5 billion, 47 percent ($3.5 billion) goes toward social services agencies, 28 percent ($2.1 billion) goes toward education, 12 percent ($880 million) goes to housing. 4 percent ($289 million) is for health, 1 percent ($86 million) is for transportation, and 1 percent ($81 million) is for uniformed agencies such as the New York City police and fire departments. The remaining 6 percent ($471 million) goes to miscellaneous matters.
MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS
There it is. Perhaps Mamdani will use the 6% to fund his government-run grocery stores. $471 million goes a long way…okay, not that long, but again…maybe that’s Mamdani’s plan. These types of grocery stores don’t have to work for the long term, None ever have.
But this could be Mamdani’s way of winning over more voters for his bid for reelection. Well, that is if he can muster up real votes, from people who actually exist. Judging from what’s been discovered about the last NYC Mayoral election, one does wonder. [Canisters]
