The Baltimore Orioles were looking to find a trade partner for catcher Adley Rutschman. Well, Jeff Passan of espn.com reported, “BREAKING: The Boston Red Sox are acquiring three-time All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, sources tell ESPN.” This is crazy. The Red Sox just swept the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. Rutschman was potentially rumored to be traded to the New York Yankees. The Yankees have a 63-49 record this season. Boston feels like they can win it all this season. Rutschman is 28 years old. He has been injured as of late for the Orioles. This season with Baltimore, he has a .251 batting average with eight home runs and 47 RBIs, along with a .331 on-base percentage. With him being traded, Samuel Bassalo can now be the full-time catcher for the Orioles.

It will be interesting to see when Rutschman will make his debut for the Red Sox. Boston has a chance to win it all for the first time since the 2018 MLB season also.
