Elon Musk is preparing a major political spending effort aimed at increasing Republican turnout during the 2026 midterm elections, reviving the super PAC that played a prominent role in President Donald Trump’s 2024 victory.
America PAC will focus its campaign on conservative voters who frequently skip midterm elections, according to Axios. Its planned operations include door-knocking, digital advertising and direct mail intended to identify supporters and ensure they cast ballots.
The organization spent more than $260 million supporting Trump during the 2024 presidential election. Representatives for Musk declined to disclose how much he intends to commit during the current cycle.
Republican strategists welcomed the PAC’s return as the party works to defend its congressional majorities in an election environment that has historically favored the party outside the White House.
“America PAC was an essential partner for our historic GOTV operation in 2024, and their return for 2026 is a huge boost for Republicans across the country,” James Blair, a senior political adviser to Trump, told Axios.
“We will again outsmart our opponents and ruthlessly execute our mission for the GOP between now and Election Day,” Blair added.
America PAC plans to coordinate its activities with other Republican political organizations, allowing those groups to concentrate more heavily on television advertising while Musk’s operation handles voter identification and turnout efforts.
The division of responsibilities could help Republicans avoid duplicating expenses and direct more resources toward voters who support the party but are less likely to participate in nonpresidential elections.
“The president’s political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top-notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we’re excited to again be part of the team,” America PAC spokesperson Andrew Romeo told Axios.
Republican super PACs and party committees currently hold an estimated $300 million financial advantage over their Democratic counterparts, according to the report. Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA Inc. also has approximately $400 million available to spend.
Musk’s renewed involvement adds another well-funded organization to the Republican campaign structure as the party seeks to mobilize voters who turned out for Trump in 2024 but may otherwise be less motivated to participate in the midterms.
America PAC’s strategy reflects a broader Republican effort to convert Trump’s presidential coalition into a reliable congressional voting bloc. Rather than concentrating primarily on persuading undecided voters, the group intends to emphasize direct contact with known or likely conservatives and increase participation among those who do not regularly vote outside presidential years.
The scale of Musk’s financial commitment remains undisclosed, but America PAC’s previous spending and its planned national turnout operation indicate it could again become one of the most influential outside groups in Republican politics.
