WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump met separately Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House as both foreign leaders visited Washington for memorial services honoring the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
The administration offered no substantive account of either Oval Office discussion, including whether the leaders addressed the wars involving Ukraine and Israel, military assistance, diplomatic negotiations or other foreign policy matters.
“President Trump has concluded his meetings in the Oval Office with President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Both meetings were positive and productive!” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a post on X.
Trump, Zelensky and Netanyahu did not appear together before reporters, and neither meeting included a public question-and-answer session.
Zelensky entered the White House without making remarks and was seen using a side entrance. The Ukrainian president wore a suit during the visit.
The meetings took place while Washington hosted a series of memorial observances for Graham, a longtime advocate for both Ukraine and Israel during his more than three decades in Congress.
Graham was one of the Senate’s most prominent supporters of continued U.S. assistance to Ukraine and regularly called for a forceful response to Russia. He was also a consistent defender of Israel and supported close military, diplomatic and strategic cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem.
The White House did not announce any agreements, policy changes or additional commitments following Trump’s conversations with Zelensky and Netanyahu.
