(ST. PETERSBURG, FL.) — Organizers have officially confirmed that the 2027 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will take place March 5–7, returning the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season opener to the streets of downtown St. Petersburg for its 23rd edition. The announcement continues one of North America’s longest-running and most recognizable street racing traditions, with the event once again expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The 3-day race weekend will feature a full schedule of on-track action, including practice sessions, qualifying, support races, and the headline NTT INDYCAR SERIES race on Sunday. Competitors will tackle the iconic 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary street circuit that winds through downtown St. Petersburg, past Pioneer Park, The Dalí Museum, and Albert Whitted Airport before returning along the scenic Tampa Bay waterfront.

Officials expect the 2027 edition to build on the momentum of recent record-breaking attendance figures. Green Savoree Racing Promotions, the event organizer, cited the continued popularity of the race and strong community support as key reasons for maintaining its traditional early-March date.

“The Firestone Grand Prix has become one of the premier sporting events in the Southeast and an important tradition for our city,” organizers said in announcing the dates. “We look forward to welcoming fans, teams, and partners back to St. Petersburg for another exciting opening weekend of the INDYCAR season.”

Beyond the racing, the event is expected to feature interactive fan experiences, entertainment, driver appearances, merchandise displays, and hospitality offerings throughout the downtown waterfront district. Local hotels, restaurants, and businesses are also anticipated to benefit from the annual influx of visitors during one of the area’s busiest tourism periods.

Tickets for the 2027 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg are expected to go on sale in the fall, with additional details regarding the weekend schedule and support series to be announced in the coming months.
