The San Francisco Giants have a 42-58 record this season. San Francisco is fourth in the National League West, and they will be missing the playoffs once again this season. Buster Posey will be looking to trade players on the roster at the trade deadline and add quality talent to the Giants already talented farm system.

One player that San Francisco should really consider trading is second baseman Luis Arraez. He will be a free agent once the 2026 MLB season ends. Arraez has played in 95 games this season for the Giants. He has a .323 batting average with four home runs and 36 RBIs, along with eight stolen bases. His on-base percentage is .362. It is going to be interesting to see which MLB teams will be interested in trading for him. Tony Vitello is the manager for the Giants this season and it has been a rough first year at the MLB level for him. He was with the Tennessee Volunteers in college before coming over to San Francisco.

MLB Analyst Believes That the San Francisco Giants Could Trade 2B Luis Arraez at the MLB Trade Deadline

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com wrote about 12 different players who could potentially be traded at the MLB trade deadline. He thinks that Arraez could be one of those players traded. Feinsand said,

“Arraez has enjoyed a bounce-back season, and his move back to second base could be part of the equation. After playing mostly first base for the Padres, Arraez signed with the Giants to move back to second, where he’s had the best defensive season of his career, with his 10 Outs Above Average ranking in the 99th percentile of the league.

The 29-year-old made it clear last week that he won’t change positions for a new team, and given how well he’s played at second this season, it’s difficult to blame him. The 42-56 Giants have no incentive to keep Arraez and figure to move him by the Deadline, and while he’s not a power threat, the four-time All-Star looks like the guy who won three straight batting titles from 2022-2024, hitting .327 through his first 93 games.”

There will be teams looking to add at the trade deadline no doubt. He is 29 years old. Arraez would fit the Milwaukee Brewers mold perfectly. Another team that could be looking to add is the Pittsburgh Pirates, but they need bullpen help more than anything. The New York Yankees could use another contact bat in the lineup as well. There will be teams looking to see what San Francisco wants in return for him.
