The Dallas Cowboys are entering the 2026 season with one goal in mind, and quarterback Dak Prescott says that goal has never changed.
Speaking during a virtual fan meet and greet on Friday, Prescott said the expectations that come with wearing the star are what make playing in Dallas special.
“That’s the one thing I love about the Cowboys Nation and being a player of the Cowboys is, it’s Super Bowl or bust. That’s the only reason you play this game. And so if that’s not your mindset, if that’s not your mindset as a fan, then to me, you don’t have the right passion. You’re not a true winner.”
Prescott added that the team is putting in the work every day to reach that goal.
“Absolutely, we’re working every day for it. Whether it be competing away from the game or even in the game when we’re competing, that’s why we have players like Caleb, changed our defensive coordinator, that scheme, and super excited about what we’re going to offer you guys.”
Dallas made several defensive changes during the offseason after finishing last in the NFL in scoring defense in 2025, allowing a franchise-record 511 points. The Cowboys also ranked near the bottom of the league in total defense and missed the playoffs.
To improve on that side of the ball, Dallas hired Christian Parker as its new defensive coordinator and added several key defenders, including Rashan Gary, Malachi Lawrence, Dee Winters, Caleb Downs, Cobie Durant and Jalen Thompson.
With a revamped defense and a renewed focus, the Cowboys are hoping those offseason moves will help them compete for their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1995 season.
