MOUNT KISCO – A woman reported missing by her family was found dead in her overturned vehicle off I-684 in Mount Kisco.
State Police identified the victim as 92-year-old Joan Mosca of New Rochelle.
Troopers received a missing-person report and determined Mosca’s car was last seen leaving the Exit 4 park-and-ride lot, heading south on I-684.
The area was searched and six hours later Mosca’s overturned Toyota was located about 35 feet off the shoulder of the highway. Mosca was dead inside the car.
Investigators determined Mosca was traveling along Route 684 when for unknown reasons she lost control, drove off the right shoulder of the highway, struck a tree and overturned.
The Westchester County Medical Examiner will determine whether Mosca suffered a medical emergency before her death.
