POUGHKEEPSIE — Dutchess County Comptroller Dan Aymar-Blair has unveiled the first in a new series of short, informational reports aimed at keeping county leaders and taxpayers informed. The “By the Numbers” reports will each spotlight a specific population or subject relevant to county residents.
The debut issue, which centers on local veterans, was created in partnership with the county’s Office of Veterans Affairs. The report includes statistics on veterans’ periods of service, demographic breakdowns, and an overview of available benefits.
“It’s been a priority from the start of my time as Comptroller to present the public with regular, easily digestible data points that can better inform them about where they live, work, and pay taxes,” said the Comptroller. “We’re hoping that this series of regular reporting will be a useful source of information for residents as well as policymakers.”
Adam Roche, director of the Office of Veterans Affairs, said accurate data on veterans is essential for providing effective services. “Accurate data allows us to tailor our programs and services, ensuring every veteran knows they are valued and cared for in our community,” Roche said.
The “By the Numbers” reports will be available on the Dutchess County website and shared on the county’s social media platforms.
