ELDRED – The Eldred Preserve and the Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking on Thursday. The event marked the official start of a new standalone spa and wellness destination on the preserve’s grounds, valued at approximately $16 million. The premier wellness project is projected to officially open its doors to the public in 2027.

Mark Baez, president and CEO of the Sullivan County Partnership, said the project is vital to the economy of the county.

“Fourteen thousand square feet of a spa that’s being built right behind you over there. And the importance of that to Sullivan County cannot be overstated, in terms of the economic development progress we’ve made here in Sullivan County. Recently, it was reported once again that Sullivan County is the number one job growth in the region,” he said.

Sullivan County Manager Josh Potosek was excited about the spa. “This facility in these grounds is one of the crown jewels of our tourism infrastructure and economy here in Sullivan County, which we fully support as a county government.”
