TOWN OF WALLKILL – A commercial building adjacent to the Orange County Fairgrounds in the Town of Wallkill was a raging inferno mid-afterrnoon on Saturday as thick black smoke and bright orange flames shot into the blue skies.

Within minutes of the call, the building on Carpenter Avenue just off the Route 211 shopping center area, was a ball of flames.

Firefighters from area fire departments responded under mutual aid to help quell the flames that totally consumed the building.

The cause is under investigation. There were no reports of injuries.
