MONTICELLO – A man was shot in the leg on Thursday morning at the Sleepy Hollow apartments in Monticello.

The incident occurred at about 11 a.m., sources said. First responders found the victim lying on the ground at the complex. The Monticello Police Department, the State Police, and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office were searching for two suspects in their teens, who fled the scene after the incident.

The victim was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and is expected to survive. Due to the suspects being at large, Monticello High School was placed on lockdown.
