ROCKLAND COUNTY – President Donald Trump is planning to visit Rockland County on Friday for an event with staunch ally Congressman Mike Lawler (R-NY-17) and local constituents.

The exact locations and complete schedule for the Commander-in-Chief’s visit have yet to be officially released. Lawler did not immediately return a message seeking comment on Monday night.

Lawler and Trump for the most part have maintained a politically aligned and positive relationship. On September 11th of last year, Lawler joined President Trump and some of his New York colleagues at the New York Yankees game to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Lawler is seeking re-election for a third term in Congress in November. Five Democrats are seeking the nomination with June’s primary approaching. The 17th District, which includes all of Rockland and Putnam counties as well as parts of Westchester and Dutchess counties, is considered to be one of the most competitive congressional districts in the nation.

Earlier this month, Trump took to social media to support Lawler, giving him “his complete and total endorsement.”
