BREWSTER – The Brewster School District was honored by the New York State School Boards Association for its CLAWS program (Career Learning and Workplace Skills), which gives students meaningful workplace experience.

CLAWS connects classroom learning to real-world work opportunities across a range of career fields, strengthening partnerships among students, schools, and the community.

Sheryl Brady, district director of the School Boards Association, made the presentation during Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting commending the district for providing students with hands-on experiences and connecting them with local businesses.

Superintendent of Schools Michelle Gosh said, “While special things happen in Brewster every day, it is meaningful to be recognized beyond the district.”

Joining Gosh in accepting the prestigious award on behalf of Brewster High School were CLAWS Program co-coordinators Glenn Palmieri and Jess McCann.
