WASHINGTON – Congressman Pat Ryan (D, NY-18) has written to  Postmaster General David Steiner relaying concerns from his constituents about what he is calling ‘mail delivery failures’ across the Hudson Valley.

Ryan cited concerns about delays in deliveries of medications and bill payments.

“Hudson Valley families deserve the best services from their post office – but recently, our community has been experiencing delays and missed deliveries while mail carriers are overworked. That’s unacceptable,” he said.

Ryan said the postal service is not a luxury for senior citizens who rely on their mail for medications, to rural communities experiencing delays, critical payment notifications missed; “these service failures impact every corner of our community.”

When asked for a comment about Ryan’s concerns, a spokesperson for the postal service would only say, “The USPS will respond directly to the congressman.”
