MONTICELLO – Garnet Health Medical Centers are expected to join the Montefiore medical network in the months ahead and State Assemblywoman Paula Kay (D, Rock Hill) hopes it will benefit the residents of Sullivan County.
Garnet operates its hospital in Harris, the medical center-Grover M. Hermann Hospital in Callicoon, both in Sullivan County as well as in the Town of Wallkill in Orange County.
And with Sullivan County lacking in terms of medical care and the numbers of medical providers, Kay looks forward to what she hopes will be better care for the county’s residents.
“I am looking forward to seeing what happens when Garnet completes its contract with Montefiore Center, she what doctors are going to be providing service here in Sullivan County. I think there could be some really great positive outcomes from that,” she said.
St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, with Orange County campuses in Newburgh and Cornwall, is also a member of the Montefiore Health Care Network as is Nyack Hospital in Rockland County.
