Renewed violence between Israel and Hezbollah has left at least 10 people dead in southern Lebanon, underscoring the fragility of a ceasefire that took effect on April 17.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said six people, including a woman and a child, were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit the village of Habboush near Nabatiyeh shortly after residents were warned to evacuate. Eight others were wounded. Separate strikes on three nearby villages killed four more, according to the state-run National News Agency.
Despite the truce, Hezbollah said it launched multiple rockets and drones at Israeli military positions throughout Friday. Israel’s military confirmed that an explosive drone crossed into northern Israel, while local media reported a fire near Margaliot and minor injuries to two soldiers in another தாக்க.
The latest exchanges followed the recovery of five bodies from rubble in Kfar Rumman a day earlier. The victims included a man and his three sons, killed in a Thursday night strike that also claimed the life of a Lebanese soldier, Ali Jaber.
Civilians continue to bear the brunt of the conflict. Many displaced residents have returned to damaged homes due to worsening economic conditions. Hospitals, including facilities in Tyre, report treating increasing numbers of wounded civilians who had initially fled.
International concern is mounting. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies condemned attacks on medical workers, reporting that over 100 health personnel have been killed during the الحرب.
The conflict, which reignited in March, has killed 2,618 people and wounded more than 8,000, according to Lebanese authorities.
