Former FBI Director James Comey is expected to voluntarily surrender to federal authorities Wednesday following a grand jury indictment tied to an alleged threat against President Donald Trump.

According to ABC News, Comey is expected to turn himself in within the Eastern District of Virginia after being indicted on two federal charges.

The indictment stems from an incident in which Comey allegedly posted a photo on social media depicting seashells arranged on a North Carolina beach to form the message “8647,” a phrase authorities say has been interpreted as a call to remove the nation’s 45th president. Prosecutors allege the post constituted a threat transmitted across state lines.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the charges include making a threat against the president and transmitting a threat in interstate commerce. If convicted, Comey could face a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

The case marks the second time Comey has been charged in connection with the alleged incident, according to federal authorities.
