CHESTER – The Town of Chester Republican Committee has appointed Robert Klein to replace Brian Youmans as a candidate in Ward 1’s Town of Chester Board race.
Youmans, 33, dropped out of the race on Monday afternoon, after it was revealed that he was arrested for DWI in Chester earlier this month. He was also arrested on gun charges in January.
“We do not condone the behavior of Mr. Youmans,” said Giuseppe Cassara, chairman of the Chester Republican Committee.
Klein, an accountant, will face Town of Chester Councilman Bob Courtenay, who has been cross endorsed by the Democrats, in June’s Republican committee.
Cassara said that Klein is a Chester Republican committee member and active in the community. Klein is married to former respected Orange County Family Court Judge Carol Klein, who retired in December.
