On March 26, the Trump White House proudly announced, “The United States has achieved a historic turnaround on immigration, with net migration falling across every single metropolitan area in the country last year. It’s yet another major victory for President Donald J. Trump’s unrelenting commitment to securing our borders and putting America First.” Some of the most impressive reductions include El Paso (-95%), Denver (-72%), Los Angeles (-67%), Chicago (-62%), and New York City (-65%).

And that automatically means a reduction in crime.

Mass Deportations Work

For context, DHS had arrested over 700,000 illegal aliens as of the start of February. Of those arrestees, about 70% have previous criminal charges or convictions in the USA, besides their illegal entry. Illegal aliens with criminal charges in their countries of origin are not included in that statistic, according to DHS, so actually the number of serial criminals among the arrestees is even higher. By July 2025, immigration enforcement had already brought down violent crime in multiple cities, according to DHS. As of the beginning of March, the United States had achieved the lowest murder rate in 125 years.

DHS attributed that amazing achievement to mass deportations.

In order to illustrate the sort of criminals DHS is removing from our streets, and on behalf of whom Democrats have denied funding to DHS and held mass protests, I’m going to share a small selection of stories.

On March 30, DHS posted an X thread of recent arrests. Among these dangerous illegal alien criminals was El Salvadoran Jose Santos Vigil-Mendez, convicted of deadly conduct in Texas; Vietnamese Binh Thanh Nguyen, convicted of aggravated assault in California; Jamaican Pierre Bell, convicted of rape in New York; Mexican Manuel Barboza-Banuelos, convicted of manslaughter in Texas; and El Salvadoran Pedro Antonio Luna, “convicted of THREE counts of aggravated sexual battery of a victim under 13-years-old and aggravated sexual battery by parent/grandparent/etc. of a child under 15-years-old in Alexandria, Virginia.” DHS usually posts such threads or press releases multiple times a week, that’s how many criminals they are arresting. There are somewhere between 20 million and 30 million illegal aliens in the United States, all of whom are criminals by definition of entering our country in violation of our laws, and we genuinely have no idea what percentage of them have committed other crimes too.

Also on March 30, DHS asked sanctuary politicians in Charlotte, North Carolina, not to make their usual law-breaking and dangerous move of releasing an illegal alien criminal. In this case, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) filed a detainer request for Venezuelan illegal alien Angelvis Jesus Quintero Fernandez, who murdered two men this year, one in January and one in March.

Murders that Never Should Have Happened

Speaking of murder, one of the most heartbreaking stories from this month was the killing of Sheridan Gorman. The Loyola University student was walking with friends in a Chicago park when illegal alien Jose Medina-Medina approached her and shot her dead. Democrats have assiduously ignored her murder since, as much as they could. Chicago Alderwoman Maria Hadden (D) claimed Gorman startled Medina-Medina at the “wrong time,” while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries refused to say if Medina-Medina should be deported. Medina-Medina didn’t know Gorman, he just randomly selected her as a victim.

Like Gorman, Richard Williams did not know his killer, and was simply engaging in a normal activity of daily life. Earlier in March, octogenarian Air Force veteran Williams—a cancer survivor and beloved father—was about to ride the New York City subway to get sushi when four-times-deported Honduran illegal Bairon Posada-Hernandez shoved Williams and another individual onto the subway tracks. Williams subsequently died from his injuries. His daughter Debbie described how active and full of joy he was. “My father loves the city. He was on his way to get sushi [at the time of the attack]. He took the subway all the time. He’s always been a New Yorker. He raised his three daughters on Long Island,” she remembered, expressing fury at Posada-Hernandez’s senseless crime.

Like Debbie, Joe Abraham is heartbroken and frustrated at the lack of justice for Americans such as his murdered daughter Katie. A drunk illegal alien from Guatemala killed 20-year-old Katie Abraham in a hit-and-run in January 2025. Abraham and her friend Chloe were at a stop light when the Guatemalan crashed into their vehicle and fatally injured both girls. Katie’s father recently slammed Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who continues to enforce sanctuary policies and gin up hatred against ICE for shooting domestic terrorists Alex Pretti and Renee Good in self-defense. “[Katie] did not knowingly put herself in the middle of an ongoing law enforcement situation. She was not making a dangerous choice. She was simply living her life—and it was taken from her,” Abraham exclaimed.

In the same theme of sanctuary politicians who make crime possible, Fairfax County, Va., authorities are particularly guilty of protecting foreign thugs. In late 2025, Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano ensured murder charges were dropped against El Salvadoran illegal alien and serial criminal Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez and that the criminal was released, despite an ICE detainer request. Within 24 hours of his release, Morales-Ortez murdered another man.

More recently, as of March 13, Fairfax Sheriff Stacey Kincaid would not honor an ICE detainer request for 18-year-old El Salvadoran Israel Flores Ortiz, who “is charged with nine counts of assault and battery” on multiple female students. School authorities refused to address Ortiz’s groping problem at the public school he attended throughout the school year.

Victims of illegal alien crime are often teens, like the girls Ortiz groped. In January, ICE lodged a detainer request with Maryland authorities for Alam Josai Garcia Padilla, Jose Vladimir Merlos-Majano, and William Ariel Cuellar Guiterrez, who are accused of murdering 14-year-old Jefferson Amaya-Ayala.

Venezuelan illegal alien Said Alexander Hernandez Gonzalez’s victim was more fortunate than poor Amaya-Ayala, but not because Gonzalez was less murderous than the teen’s killers. Gonzalez assaulted a woman walking on a Florida beach, held her underwater until he thought he’d drowned her, then went to chill out with weed and vodka. Miraculously, the victim survived.

Illegal Aliens On Our Roadways

Last year, Lebanese illegal Sameh Mohamad Chami, an Uber driver, kidnapped and sexually assaulted a young female passenger. Not long after, Mexican illegal Alejandro Rendon Segovia, a Lyft driver, kidnapped and raped a teenaged passenger in Utah. This year, Cuban illegal alien and Lyft driver Yordan Basilio Diaz Vera sodomized a mother of four at gunpoint in his vehicle in Louisville.

Professional vehicle drivers who are both illegal aliens and dangerous criminals are legion. Among the illegal alien truck drivers who have caused deadly crashes in the last few months are Indian Singh Sukhdeep, Kyrgyzstani Bekzhan Beishekeev, Indian Partap Singh, Indian Kamalpreet Singh, Indian Harjindar Singh, and Indian Jashanpreet Singh. And then there was the literal terrorist from Uzbekistan caught driving a semi-truck in Kansas with a Pennsylvania commercial driver’s license.

The horror stories could go on and on. Travis Wolfe, Jocelyn Nungaray, Nate Baker, Rachel Morin, Aiden Antonio Torres De Paz, David Lee, Ivory Smith, Kayla Hamilton, and Laken Riley are just a few of the Americans who lost their lives to illegal alien killers. Then there are the victims of illegal alien rape, sexual assault, robbery, drug overdoses, and more.

DHS was 100% correct to argue that by arresting and deporting illegal aliens, and by making net migration to U.S. urban centers negative, it is automatically reducing crime in our country.
