Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is expected to appear before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on June 10 for a transcribed interview as part of the panel’s ongoing investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The appearance follows a request from Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, who wrote to Gates in March stating the committee “believes you have information that will assist” its investigation.

A spokesperson for Gates said he intends to cooperate fully, noting that he “welcomes the opportunity to appear before the committee,” according to a report by The Hill. The spokesperson added, “While he never witnessed or participated in any of Epstein’s illegal conduct, he is looking forward to answering all the committee’s questions to support their important work.”

Gates has previously acknowledged that his past interactions with Epstein were a “huge mistake,” and his association with the financier has drawn renewed scrutiny following the release of Justice Department documents earlier this year.

Materials made public in January included two emails attributed to Epstein and dated July 2013, several years after Epstein’s initial conviction for sex-related offenses. One message appeared to reference a request involving medical treatment and communication deletion, while another draft email contained claims about assistance with obtaining drugs. It remains unclear whether these messages were sent beyond Epstein or verified by recipients.

The Oversight Committee’s inquiry has expanded to include multiple individuals connected to Epstein or events surrounding his case. Among those identified for testimony are Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Gateway co-founder Ted Waitt, Epstein associate Lesley Groff, and former corrections officer Tova Noel, who was on duty at the New York facility where Epstein died.

The committee has indicated that the interviews are part of a broader effort to gather information related to Epstein’s network, associations, and circumstances surrounding his activities and death.

Gates’ scheduled testimony marks one of the most high-profile appearances in the inquiry as lawmakers continue to seek additional details tied to Epstein’s contacts and influence.
